For a piston valve I am working on, for the port, I basically want to use a tap to remove the stop from a bushing. By doing this, I would be able to thread a nipple far enough into the bushing that I could use it in a tee valve.

Before I get any alternative suggestions, the valve needs to be adjusted, so this is the perfect option for me. I want to know if the modification to the bushing will severely compromise its integrity (it will be taking a whole lot of pressure). Also, I've been looking for a fully-threaded nipple, but I haven't found anything that would work. I'm talking about one where the threads don't change directions

I hope you understand what I'm saying, a diagram may come later if no one gets what I'm talking about

I've seen them used in piston valves on this site, it was a poly-pipe nipple, I'll look into that first

:EDIT:
patto, you can't direct link to mcmaster, what was the product number?

In my marble pnumatic I used a standard nipple on the inside of the bushing and a ball valve on the other side. It served as a guide tunnel for my piston rod.

I took it to 300psi while only using half the threads.
