Find a place that carries tools instead of pots and pans and kitchen appliances. I found the hardware stores vary by location. You may look for a tool store. They always have compressor supplies.

Nope, this hardware store sells...hardware, nuts, bolts, screws, nails, hammers, screw drivers, etc. No pots and pans

Also, whenever I pull the hose's trigger, all the air escapes, I was hoping this will be a ghetto BBMG's like JSR's, but if all the air escapes, it'll just be a semi-powerful air pistol. But then again I didn't add detents yet, nor did I epoxy the barrel to the hose...

Also, before I epoxy my barrel on the hose, I want to make sure that the hose as no leaks.

Please, help me with all these issues JSR, no offense, but you sometimes give me half an answer and I wonder at what the other half is..reminds me of Merlin -.-

No one's paying me to answer your questions, no offense, but sometimes that half answer is more than you deserve ;) one of the best capabilities a good spudder has is the ability to make the most of whatever limited resources he has available - and that entails some original thought on your part.

Antonio is a good example, he doesn't post anymore but in spite of the fact that his launchers were literally made out of rubbish that couldn't have cost more than a meal at McDonalds, they were innovative and worked well.

*ahem*

Yes, back to your project. Withthis thing, 2 litres of air at 110 psi gave me less than 4 seconds of constant firing time. If you're using a much smaller water bottle, pressurised to lower pressure, don't expect to fire for minutes on end like they do in the movies.

By the way, documenting your progress with photos and decent diagrams would be amazing for those who can still muster the will to assist you :)

I don't have a camera :(, I was using my phone, but it sucks :(, I'll do diagrams later, still sealing that stupid leak. You'll recognize it JSR, its very similar in one way to yours..it has a crap load of epoxy on it.

Damn, this baby packs a punch! Around 20 full pumps on my bicycle pump, I held the barrel to the nozzle and fired, it went around 20 yards straight before hitting a door( fired it in my house) and I still can't find it >.>. Also, I'm not firing BB's, mine are a magnetic marble that weighs pretty much, I'm estimating that I'm not even firing it at its full potential. I'm also running out of epoxy, so the barrel will look weird, JSR, do I still need detents?

Anyways, I ran out of epoxy, to make a long story short, I'm going to cut off half of a PVC pipe i have lying around and then duct tape it to the barrel for support, but before any of that, I still need to know about the detents xD

Assume no.
I imagine a detent bbmg could be slightly more powerful, but I recommend you put it together with minimal complexity to start with. What you're building probably didn't cost that much, so you can always build something better later, when you have more of an idea what you're doing.
You could probably even add a detent even after you put this one all together.

No one's paying me to answer your questions,
Given the location which many of your posts are sent from I'd have to dissagree :D

My lab staff refer to spudfiles as "that potato machinegun website" :D

You work at a lab?! Drawing diagrams, waiting on my sister for her camera, and firing tests will begin shortly. No air compressor, so it'll be at 20 or 30 pumps of the bicycle pump, haven't decided yet

Do you have a gauge of any sort? The bicycle pump at least should have one on it...

Nope...annd the bottle bursted

Quick diagram : Image

my bottle burst, so I'm gonna buy a soda bottle soon. Also, since the current bottle is epoxied to threaded fitting, and then epoxied to the hose, I'll have to saw the epoxy off with my dremel.

I'm really not surprised the bottle burst. This is one of those "we told you so" moments. Take it as a learning experience.

Unless you use pressure vessels that are rated past 1,000psi, you'll burst all sorts of things by subjecting them to unknown pressures without a gauge. Get a pump with a gauge on it, and buy some pipe fittings or thick-walled tubing like JSR uses. That canister was probably only designed to withstand 100psi or so.

The only way I've found you can easily know what pressure you're at without a gauge is this: Estimate or find the diameter of the pump head on your bike pump, then find how much pressure you'd be at when it can support your weight. Below that and above that, you have no clue.

You'll probably burst a soda bottle too if you don't have a gauge.

I have a gauge on the compressor, but its in my dad's car. Also, the bottle was just a juice bottle, I expected it to burst, but not this soon, lol. I pumped it up last time and it slowed at around 30 psi, I'm estimating that I pumped over that...Also, I'll be working on something else now that I understand how this works. and it'll start with a proper blowgun trigger..not some hose fitting -.-

Almost anything that's not designed to hold lots of pressure, won't. Like a juice bottle. Your compressor slowed at about 30psi?

Yup...I stopped it at 35 before it'll burst, but I never actually gauged the PSI when I shot today

So you slowed down your compressor. Ah. 35psi is very low by a spudgunner's standards, even for a large-bore, but especially for a small-bore like you're attempting. I advise acquisition of a proper pressure vessel. HIGHLY.
