Well couldn't you just take away what they come to your yard for? Perhaps contain the food that is apparently easy for them to get, that would discourage them from coming back.

Guys, I agree, those raccoons will keep coming back until they either remove the bird feeders, garbage cans, etc... or kill them. His wife is a total animal lover/pacifist and would flip out if we shot them. We'll probably just get out some .22's next time she's not around. I have a hi-standard .22 competition pistol with a 9" barrel, perfect for varmit work. I like the CCI stingers, also, btw.
I suggested to poison the 'coons but there's a chance the neighbor's pets would eat it, so that's out.
Back on-topic, anyone have any comments/suggestions/ideas on my design? Particularly the breech loader and sight system?
Peace,
Pete Zaria.

Uh, all the comments about .22's have been about the normal, gunpowder-powered firearms.

Okie doke just makin sure. Have you though of putting red dot sight on? And about the breechloading look up Girodani style rifle and look for the loading mechanism, its very simple yet awesome. If you cant find it ill draw you diagram.

The Giradoni’s breach loader would be cool, but complicated.
But back to the coons, shooting them behind your friend's wife's back isn’t a good idea, if she finds out you most likely will be in BIG trouble. Try using pacifists’ biggest enemy - LOGIC! Explain to her that they got two options, one ketch ‘em, which is next to impossible and once you do don’t take ‘em to the animal shelter because they’ll just put ‘em down. Or two, kill ‘em. And coons are smart enough not to eat most poisons.
I personally don’t like the Stinger, I’d use the triple S, that coon won’t get far with 60grains of lead sitting in his gut…
Edit: it’s also more humane to kill it quick than just hurt it.

You obviously don’t full understand how it works… simple it is on paper, but to actually make one, with out a machine shop especially, would be very hard indeed.
Zeig’s Spud, how many times must I say it - if you don’t kill it it’ll be back. Pacifists…

Are you high? I have a bb rifle that uses the Girodani style magazine and it took me a total of about one hour to make it. I took a tube in which I put the bbs in, closed one end with some epoxy and stuck a spring in it, took a piece of wood and cut it to shape and found some bendy metal, put all that together and tada. It really isn't no rocket science, I mean if it to complicated for you it doesn't mean that it should be for every one else. Some people are better at some things than the others.
