Just use motors...

I also disagree that a belt fed system is more simple than a revolver. And I disagree that either of those routes is even necessary to achieve what you want. If your only issue with a conventional magazine fed gun is that you'll lose cartridges, just make a shell catcher.

standard cartridge ejection with a shell catcher would meet all of my criteria, but I want something cooler than that, I may give a multibarrel launcher a go...

Just out of curiosity, what type of ammo do you plan to fire?

well the shell are going to be 3/4" SCH 40 PVC. And I'll be shooting anything and everything; thats why shells are so attractive to me. I almost never shoot consistent ammo

In a magazine fed system like my RSP, shells don't exactly diversify your range of ammo. If anything I'd say they restrict it. With shells, the length (and sometimes mass depending on loading system) of your projectiles is limited. Sabots, however, permit all sorts of oddly shaped things to be fired.

If you plan to make a multi-barreled weapon then you shouldn't have any issues, but I wouldn't count on shells to give you diversity unless your weapon can be loaded with shells of varying lengths.

The first thing that would spring to mind would be a brass catcher.

And yes, Plow's design was pretty complex.

edit: hadn't seen PVC already suggested a brass catcher.

I'm really linking a multi-barrel system, 6 3/4" CPVC barrel in a circle, I've worked out a way to seal them, but I have no idea how to rotate them :?

I know there is a way to rotate them electronically, but its a little on the complicated side for me. Is there no mechanical way to rotate the barrels?

you could set up a cam system, i know theres a thread on here, it was a pump action one, pump backward, it moved halfway, pump foreward, it finished the 1/6th rotation
