the whole idea of using a tank is the great I am going to do the same when I finish my college... (since I don't have much time for this hobby now) remeber that my compressor is from a refrigator - I suppose that it more powerful than those for fridges.... but if you use two at the same time it will work fine.... yeah and just in case you don't know - propane tanks have different threads so you need special fittings (it isn't really a problem they are easily available)

Well I'm not sure. It is a mini compressor with all the specs you've mentioned: 250psi, 12v, and designed for towing in cars. It cost $16 at True Value.POLAND_SPUD wrote:@ rcman - what type of compressor have you bought? a shop compressor or the same as I have?

those 12V compressors suck... I had one and it broke after about 2 weeks... they get overheated fast, their flow is low, and they have problems when pumping above 120 psi level... the one I built works fine so far... pressures above 300 psi are easily achievable and their flow is fine for me... if you can get one of these fridge pumps cheap - buy it... 12V compressors are just a waste of money
