I just did the coin test at 250psi. I shot a nail through a 10c piece and an inch into the back board. I shot a 20c piece soon after but I made the tip too sharp and so it had no strength. It got close to going through the coin but the nail tip just collapsed and moulded into the coin. I can't get it out....

If I had some high speed steel nails, I reckon I'd have a bit more luck.

Cheers for the comment Pizlo :D

Wow very nice.
I would really like to see some pics of this awsome damage you speak of or even a vid.
Id bet its loud because I just finished my mini coax(1/2 the size of this) and it makes a surprising crack when it is fired at 200psi and will soon get up to 500psi.
what pressure have you taken it up to?sorry if that has already been mentioned

Bigbob, I usually fire this thing at 250psi but have taken it up to 300+ on a few occassions.

Was that a typo or are you just being Australian? :D

Nature always choses the path of least resistance, if your projectile is harder than your target then it's easier to penetrate. I use masonry nails, the ones that tend to snap rather than bend if you hit them sideways.

I will take it up to 500psi with the high pressure pump I am working on.
1/2in type L copper body and a floating o-ring
Should be able to get to 500psi[/quote]
