AL-XG took his QEV (shuttle piston type) to 750psi and used it that high regularly. Eventually the piston tore, so he replaced it.

There is no doubt in my mind that a QEV would increase performance, but whether it would be noticeable is a different matter. Cannons like this aren't just about power anyway.
