25mm Sniper Rifle

i have seen far to many posts that have the word "sniper" in the title yet do not even have a scope. so i built this to show what a real sniper should at least look like. i also entered it in that instructables thing and have a full tutorial of the entire build process

<a href="http://www.instructables.com/id/EU086MRF6B7Q5DF/"> there it is</a>

anyway back on topic its a bolt action sniper with a 25mm barrel and a sprinkler valve as the firing valve. there were a lot of pieces i ghetto modified (yay dremel) to get it to work but its pretty basic other than the scope and bolt. just your average over powered sprinkler valve cannon other than that. this is the rebuild of the first pneumatic i had ever built but all that remained from that gun is the stock and the trigger assembly, so its more of a complete over-haul. that cannon only shot paintballs this has a 1" barrel so i guess its not much of a rebuild. theres only one more thing i want to add to it, a noise reducing barrel extension. i have a second barrel for it (without a bolt) that i want to turn into a barrel extension *cough* silencer *cough* but i dont know what would be the best design. (many separate compartments, one compartment packed with insulation, half and half, ect) but anyway pics...

the last two were taken with a cell phone cam thats why they look so bad i would be glad to answer any questions about this gun and i almost for got the video...

and im not a terrible shot i just haven't been able to sight it in yet i also doubt that co2 cartridges are very aerodynamic. it looks like it impacted sideways, im going to have to make some sort of dart.

Very nice, you finshed it, mounting the blow gun.
I love the bolt action and the sleek look.

Peace,

Seeing as though this is a sniper rifle, how accurate is it?

wow its really sleek and clean great job! but why didnt you put a valve like the one you made for me on it that thing has a ton of power and would make it even more powerful but great job.

e1337 - yea i got it all put together it has a lot more power than i remember my last sprinkler valve cannon having.

Novacastrian - well i dont have a true firing range all i got left is the 40-50ft from my deck into part of my woods. my neighbors are paranoid that im going to blow them up, right after i fire something i have to go inside and hide. so i cant do very many tests and its short range so i cant say much officially for its accuracy as of right now. i need to find a long range testing facility...

CannonCreator - did you do the blow gun mod? thats really surprising becuase all my sprinkler valves are very sensitive like i have had leaks set them off before.

mike1010 - well i just didn't have the time to make another one right now with school and home work. besides i had a spare sprinkler valve so i had to use it on something... i just made another one of those valve except completely coaxial for this kid to use as an airsoft grenade launcher ill see if i can get some pics of it, i think you guys would like it.

- thanks man, you know i haven't played in a while do they have like indoor places where you can play in the winter?

How is the blowgun working out.It looks a little low to me, and thought it would be a bit uncomfortable with it there. Other than that, good job.

Great looking cannon. I love the way it is configured into a very 'sniper rifle like' feel, with accessories and all! :D the *cough* silencer *cough* would really finish the look beautifully.
My only critism is that the red blowgun handle could be painted into the uniform black, although thats only my opinion, and it looks cool either way
Great work :P

I like the look of this. It looks quite simple but elegant. I also noticed how you cut the elbow to slide over the pipe for the handle. One made a comment about the handle being too low. It appears as if the tank is threaded. If so, you could replace the 90 degree cut elbow with a 45 degree elbow (this would give it 45 degrees from the chamber and not have to go through the bend and also reduce your pilot volume). You beat me to it but that was actually the design I was going to use for the handle on my next project.

the handle is a bit low but you get used to it pretty quickly and its reasonable comfortable to use considering its almost 100% PVC. and ill put some electrical tape on the trigger so it looks better.

Hey man, great job im in the process of building a sniper like that, but without ascope because im yet to buy one, so for now ill call it a rifle :D One question, i presume air doesnt go into the stock, so how did you block of the tee?

Cheers thursto.

yes i did block the air from going into the stock, i used a 3/4 endcap that was put in backwards. if you want a more detailed instructions with pictures click the link that says "there it is"
