Toro sprinkler Valve modification ???
I FINALLY got my sprinkler valve thats cost me nearly $50 US wtf but anyway its a toro 3/4 male thread valve. I was wondering if i could just mount the blowgun where the flow control handle is. The toro flow control handle has a long needle attached to it, I just want to know if the flow control handle with the needle is important or can I remove this flow control handle with the needle and place the blow gun there ?? I just want to be sure of things soo i dont waste my cash on this mod

it all depends on if that "needle" which is probably your guide rod, goes through the piston, which it probably does, then i would find a spot on the side to drill into or find a way to keep the guide rod in the piston and all that deal cause the guide rod hole might just be big enough to leak air fast enough when you open the pilot to not open the piston but it's all up to you, oh yeah and you got raped on the valve i take it you don't live in the US

No I dont live in the US I just converted it to US dollars. But here not many ppl buy sprinkler valves generally...probably just the golf course ppl n such sooo the price is high.

Well first of all, you are basically right. But this also depends on what kind of cannon you are making.
Performance will vary with the kind of cannon you may be making. Using a 3/4 inch barrel should be fine. But if you use a 2 inch barrel, your performance will not be that good. And how do i kno? Well it happend to me. So just making sure that you dont make the same mistake.
Go with a 3/4 barrel or less. 1 inch should be fine but you will notice a performance difference with bigger barrels.

AHAHAHAH i have this valve
it is significantly more powerful than any other sprinklers i have used. good choice.............
anyway, yes, just slap the blowgun there. no other modifications are neccecary.............
on this model the guide rod can be removed entirely, it actually works better that way.

Could be any of those, of course it's only his word but i'm sure if proper tests were done a conclusive result could be drawn.

oh i see. the most popular valve i see people use is the orbit water master 1inch valve

Well you may want to drill your own hole as the flow control may only have a small hole, but if it's big enough I don't see why not.
There is a guide around here for modding valves with guide rods, just search for it.

In that case I would recommend buying any future sprinkler valves of eBay for $10US and get them posted to you for probably under $10US.
