how to make an auto matic gun

okay basically,
1.) you have a large tube, a t - piece piece, and another tube all assemble all in, line with each other.
2.) inside of the large tube there is a smaller tube that fits snugly in it with rubber ends. there is a hole drilled 1/4 of the way to the left of the hole in the t-piece. there are springs at the back of the smaller tube, and a trigger that realises the spring.
3.) you pull down on the trigger wich lets the spring push the smaller tube across the t-piece with the hole, Air is let out through the t-piece through the hole of the smaller tube and out the front of the barrel.
4.) there is also a spring in the front of the smaller tube thats when pushed against by the larger spring pushes back against the tube (piston thingy) shooting a burst of air.
plz tell me if this will be good, if not pleaze tell me how to make a automatic or semi auto matic. I think about this stuff all the time, this is jusyt one idea out of hundreds i have for this one topic. Since my budgets low ( im 13) and i have nearly 0 free time on 6 days of the week, please give me a efficient and accurate one dont have time and money to screw up.
p.s. my e-mail is (
michaelsiena@hotmail.co.uk ) this is not my name for info for all u stalkers, i just thought of my favourite town and said the name of my worst enemy.

Could you include a diagram or drawing?

nice job, but a diagram would be a good addition

I don't think you have tested this have you, give us a diagram to evaluate

is this what your talking about, because your not the fist to think of this, the problem people have found with this design is that the rubber seals create to much friction to allow the blowback force to push the slide back, let alone by hand

Pretty good for a thirteen year old to understand that all 8) . Your best bet would examine the way a modern firearm works and adapt that into your design... even some of the old classics like the M1 Grand and Carbine have some intresting tips to offer...
Never biult one however there has been many posting on similar topis you might try reading up on the old ones.

thanks, I do have an iq of 130, but im a noob at this, but yes, the diagram u posted is very similar except to the left of it is a trigger that when release aligns the hole in the piston to slide over the air supply.
there are also weaker springs at the front that shove it back recocking it. thnks, i havent tested it, font have the money to, just want to build one that will not be a waste.
also i see what you mean by the rubber seals not alowing the piston to slide so fast, but perhaps u could lubricate?????

It would be easier on our eyes if you would do some editing to your post before you post it....
The rubber seals would have to fit tightly to for a seal...it really depends on how high your PSI is going to be... yes some oil will help but I htink you could do better with you design...
Try a spool valve...If I'm thinking of the right thing its very similar to a piston valve in design a function... look it up...
Also have you considered a magazine? Or how to feed the ammo in? What caliber and shape is your ammo... all things to consider before you can design an action that would work consistently.

How about multiple rotating barrels?
My thoughts are how to get a good seal, and wether itrs actually worth it.
EDIT: Just what I thought hen I loked over it, guy posting below me.

can you cut the smilies?
anyways, just read up on other members theories, and test a prototype.
Also if you have an ipod check out Ipod Linux, ipodlinux.org
just don't use there forums for anything but tech support, they have really bitchy mods.

sorry i have a.d.d. and cant really consentrate, didnt know about spell function. I will be using a compressor, around 100 psi per shot, copper pipe, paintballs the size of your thumb, and a 3-what ever spring fed, bolt action magazine, iknow this is closer to a bolt action gun, but brlirvr me i have lots of other plans.
I noticed you have programs that enable you to create accurate diagrams displaying the technical workings and physics behind the certian mechanizims. please can you send me some links where i can download them, I have done some interesting sketches of an automatic gunpowder, combustion hybrid cannon. It works like a maximus machine gun, that 1, ejects the spent shell, 2.) allows a new cartridge to slide into the breech, 3.) the reciol pushes back the bolt recocking the gun. the whole main mechanics of the weapon is inside a tube, which is inside a box with springs etc, I havent made a combustion gun, but this is just a theory that i have thought on based on the workings of other combustion cannons. Also the triger lets go of a spring attached to a cube or filed cilinder with the same needle as a cap gun. I know this sounds wiered but it will be fun to disscus and improve. All these plans i would love to draw, ( My brian is overflowing with info of litterally billions of thing!!! resulting in headaches, this explains my awkward rambleings.) I know the main idea will work as i have figured out how a machinegun works, i just dont know what i should use for the main source of combustion!
please send me a link to a easy and free program for drawing my plans
p.s. for those that think i am, please dont call me a nerd, i have lost a lot of friends because of my intrest in things to complicated for thier retarded brains to work out, this may sound stupid but please dont i have enough head-aches in a day!!!!!

Whoa, kid slow down I don't think you know half of the things you are talking about...
First off your best best is to start simple what you are trying to do most of use here haven't done yet. Either because we don't have the experience. The know how or the desire.
You need to really understand how some of this stuff works before you try to build any of it. Build a regular combustion launcher, build a pneumatic and then maybe try and tackle a hybrid...honestly your trying to tackle a very and complicated project.
Maixmus Machine gun? Never heard of it and I can find it on the web either. If you want help I need to know this: What caliber its, what kind of action is it, and who makes or made it?
Really dude I think your over your head on this one. Take a deep breath and do some reading around in the forum and on line. There are plenty of informative web sites that your could benefit from. No one is too smart to learn.

Meh Jared I don't think he knows how to make black powder( please don't look it up) and If he can make a successful gun that complex on his first try good for him. Just use pressure rated Pvc, solvent weld it good, or for anything more than a hairspray combustion use metal, if its copper get a lesson from someone in person who knows how to sweat it the correct way. Just read about what people have done, ask intelligent questions, and try anything you want as long as you keep yourself safe.

i know, i have built 3 airguns, all ball vaulve, 2 are copper. both i carved and attached triggers, sights, spring release maechanisms all fire marbles paintballs at 900 feet per second, etc. A maximus machine gun was used in world war 1 although it was built in the 1800's. It was inside a box that enabled it to eject, reload, recock and fire. If i find a drwaing program i can show, then you'll understand. This is just a theory but building it would be a blast. If you show me a drawing program then youl see what i mean, also i can show you how the cartridges work. this is not a question of working but materials. maybe im wrong but before you say that let me show you. IM GLADLY ALL EARS!!
