Hey, i just got a shipment from flex pvc. I asked them to make sure everything was pressure rated. They were great 3 day shipping, all pieces look good, one fitting was even sch 80, even the wye they sent me was. im very suspicious of this endcap though,it seems very thin it does not have print and is not from the same company as the other fittings. anyone know? Sorry to make a thread of this, i just dont want it to blow up in my face. thanks.

Im pissed, they replied 2x saying it was all pressure rated.

First of all, what type of pneumatic are you making?

Ther is no chance of that being pressure rated
It doesnt have enough length were it threads into, its like the shorter socket depth in DWV except with threads.
Tell them that they are wrong, and request a 2in pressure rated threaded plug

You could go to Home Depot and buy a 2" galvanized steel plug just like that one that should work with the rest of the parts you are using.

yer that isnt pressure rated its just too thin

i shoulda known, its just as well i needed to get some more stuff from them anyways and maybe theyll include the shipping with replacement they send. steel will be too heavy and i need to drill and tap it too.

I just looked at the threaded plug on my BBMG (which is pressure rated), and it looks completely different.

DWV, totally. It has threads that are too shallow, as already stated, and the corners are too sharp for it to be pressure rated. For some reason, at least to me, the non pressure rated plugs have a sort of cheaper look to them.

above all, you shouldnt be sorry for making this thread. nobody wants DWV exploding in koolaidman's face. BTW, why are you using a threaded cap for a pneumatic?

Something wrong with threads on a pneumatic? Maybe he wants to get to the piston. I would like to have figured out a way to do that. I'm using them so I can switch chambers if I want. Then if the piston doesn't work or work good enough I won't have to make the whole thing over again.

Yeah, its the porting end of the piston. I want to be able to get at the piston. Plus it's being ported by a 1/4" bv, so im just gonna tap it anyways, no reason to reduce it down. Why not use them on a pneumatic, just gotta use a crapload of teflon.
