Hey, I plan on making a pneumatic tennis ball launcher, but there's only one problem...There's no 2 1/2" PVC pipe. There's only 2 1/2" ABS pipe, and 2 1/2" electrical conduit (the grey stuff). I know this is not a good idea, and I know people will quote this sentence and say "Well if you know it's not a good idea, then why are you asking us?" and the answer is that I don't feel like going to The States and because this is my last big project for now, because my dad said my cannons are getting too big, and too expensive, even if I'm paying for them...So please help. Thanks!

cell core or solid wall ABS

Actually, it's fine. As long as it's not too brittle or fragile, the pressure shouldn't affect it...
Unless you're using it for the tanks.

If its a barrel, theres no problem with it being ABS, just make sure the tennis ball fits, and use ABS to PVC transition glue and that it.
Dont stop making cannons, keep em' comin!

Thanks guys, and thanks for replying so fast. Especially Crotch because he's always one of the first people to reply in my threads. =) And do you know where I can find this "ABS to PVC transition glue"?

Thanks for another suggestion...
So now I have another problem...I don't know which valve to pick, because sprinkler valves and ball valves would be too small for a 2 1/2" barrel, and if I make a piston valve, it would be my first time using it, and I don't want to mess it up. Thanks.

Well, the one and only solution to bigger bores are piston valves, ofcourse!
Or use burst disks.... though not really worth the hassle I think.

They don't sell 2" ball valves here, only in the Home Depot that I checked in The States before when I went there, and it's too hard to open...even with petroleum jelly, and a handle attatched to it. It's also too big, AND I'd have to find a 2 1/2"-2" bushing. =|

A 2" BV won't yield alot of power.
