Airsoft Shotgun

I built a simple little gun to make use of the "shells" I mentioned in this thread.

It has a 1" x 12" PVC stock/chamber. The main valve is just a modded sprinkler and the trigger is a blowgun.

To be able to use the shells, I glued a 1" x 1/2" bushing into a 1" male adapter. This piece is the heart of the shotgun. It connect to the sprinkler and provides a socket (1/2") to plug the shells into.

The glue is still curing... but here is a picture. I also took a video of the shells being fired with a different sprinkler valve gun.

Image The cotton looks cool when you fire the gun. The bb's go damn far and have a wide spread with excellent velocity.

Reloading the shells is a breeze. You just pop off one cap and stick a cotton ball in the end of the tube. Replace that cap and take off the other one. Fill the tube with bb's leaving about a 1/2" of tube empty. Stick another cotton ball in and put that cap back on. You have to take the caps off when you're shooting but I like to keep them on while I'm carrying the shells just to make sure nothing falls out. They are very secure though without the caps.

the chamber to barrel ratio is crazy i bet it has a hell of a lot of recoil.

nice clean build b.t.w

Wow, I bet half the chamber size would give you similar performance.

I made somthing like this before it was made with 3/4'' cpvc and 1.50'' abs dwv I know I know what ever.

Pretty Schweet cartridges.
In the video there's a section of pipe not shown in the pic?

Instead of cotton, you could try a section of plastic grocery bag.
BTW, Like I replied last night, you might as well try adding a burst disc to the end closest to the sprinkler valve. If nothing else, it might give you more bang. 8)

EDIT: OK, just re-read that it was a different s.v. gun in the video.
How's the one in your post shoot?

Yeah the C:B ratio is crazy. I wanted to give the stock some length. And technically there isn't really a barrel. Having one wouldn't really help much anyway. If anything just make a tighter spread.

There is hardly any recoil since the cotton and bb's aren't of significant mass.

I will try the plastic bags as wadding. The gun still needs to cure, I'll test it tomorrow.

Thanks for the comments!

I tested the gun today and I am extremely disappointed in the sprinkler valve's performance using a blowgun. Up until now, I've only used ball valves to pilot SV's. Instead of getting the usual loud "CRACK", I got more of a dragged out honk. I tried two different blowguns and both worked like crap. I am positive that this sprinkler works properly too.

So it's off to find a better pilot valve that resembles a trigger. Maybe I'll just mod the blowgun...

it honks because of your crazy CB ratio aswell lol :D

It never honks using a ball valve though!

What do you use as a fill valve(Im assuming its that little silver thinggy at the bottom of your stock), but it doesnt look like a quick connect, shraeder, or presta.
