I can get this 2" hunter icv sprinkler valve for $20. Is it worth buying? Can it be pneumatically modded? What would i use to pilot it? Thanks for any help!

Where did you find that? I need a large sprinkler valve for a tennis ball howitzer I am thinking of making.

Yes these are usually much more expensive than 20 dollars.

Just make sure though that there is nothing wrong with it. Then it should be worth it.

Thank you. I will go ahead and order it then. What would I use to pilot it though?

a blowgun. You will either have to remove the flow control & drill into the top, or, remove the flow control, fill it's little cozy spot with epoxy, and drill through the side of the top (as close to the top as possible).

Thank you fishboy. I wasn't sure if a blowgun would pilot such a big valve, but i guess it will.

If your unsure about a blowgun, just use a ballvalve. I would say anywhere fomr 1/2 inch to 1 inch would work jsut fine.

I am currently making a gun with a 2 inch sprinnkler, but I am gonna go all fancy and pilot it with a modded 1 inch sprinkler which is piloted with a blowgun... I am sure its overkill, but whatever, I have the parts so money isnt an issue...

I am sure a blowgun will be more than fine... I have seen some impressive results with piston guns piloted by the schrader....

I would pilot it with atleast a 1/4" ball valve, anything over 3/8" would be overkill
