MyModGun....The "Hipster"

At least the chamber anyway... I've got 6 barrels that fit on this...
I call it the hipster cause I shoot from the hip with this, normally lobbing heavy stuff...
It's a Humphreys qev piloted 4"x24" toolie chamber, with 2" locking camlocks allowing 5 second barrel swaps...
The handle is the front bumper from a 4wheeler, the strap I built myself(who needs to BUY large clamps)...
The barrels are nothin' special but they are: 3"x 6ft(will launch a 32oz monster can well over a hundred yards filled with water, and no wadding), 2"x 10ft (will launch 10oz missils 1/4 mile), 1.5"x 66" (will shoot a water filled pingpong ball 1/4 mile), 2.5"x5ft (tennis balls go byebye), 2.5"x 2ft for playing fetch with the dogs using tennis balls...

Nice. Hows the weight balance?

Quite well, except with the 2"x10ft barrel, and the 3"x 6ft barrel, but with the layout it's still quite easy to handle and fire accurately...
I might also make a GB barrel for it, and a 1" by 6ft steel or aluminum barrel as well...

Great work and great design.
Do you feel the toolies piston is improving performance by allowing the inline flow?

Not to be an annoyance but I searched the wiki yet I don't know what a toolies piston is does anybody have I diagram I would appreciate it. This cannon looks really great but I don't believe tennis balls would go bye bye because of their weight.

It seems like the toolie design does indeed perform better than a standard coax, I also made a "velocity stack" at the outlet end of the chamber(inside the chamber of course)... When launching projectiles with almost identical weights/size/shape, as my gb cannon, this one actually bypasses the gb guns distance, even with a smaller volume chamber and shorter barrell....
When I say tennis balls go byebye, I don't mean outta sight, but using tractor supply tuff balls(tennis balls made heavier duty for dog use) 200+ yards is no prob, which is very good for a furry sphere... I haven't injected one full of water yet to see how much farther it'll go...

Oh yeah I thought that's what a toolie valve looked like.

Just for poops and giggles, I made a 10' long 1" barrel for it, way overkill on the chamber/barrel sizing, but I want to see how far and fast I can shoot a c battery or a superball... I'll prolly end up shooting this barrel a coupla times and then cannabilize about 6 ft of it for smaller coaxs, I'm getting lots of requests for them...

Kicking a dead topic....
Actually, While reading and research on Cv's and such I think I've figured out where the performance increase for the toolie comes from versus a coaxial.... Reading D-Halls ggdt wiki, I found the formula for calculating Cv, and If I'm correct in assuming that a toolie will flow similar to a burst disc, then a toolie style valve will flow 33% more than a coax valve of the same size... However, the formula d listed is just an approximater...So it could be off slightly...

If you put a check valve inbetween the schrader and tee then you wouldn't have the problem of the valve piloting when you take the pump off.

FACEPALMHEADDESK!!!! Duh, Thanx for that, sometimes the obvious things evade me, lol, I wanted to stay away from ball valves for aesthetic reasons, but check valve just went whoosh over my head...
