I just made this pneumatic cannon yesterday. I have made others in the past, which I'm not too proud of  , but I used some of the parts from the old ones to make this and another that I still was not able to complete.

I use the cannon up to 100PSI, but I'm sure I could probably go higher.

The specs are as follows:

Modified Sprinkler Valve

Schrader Valve for fill

1.5" Barrel

Piping is painted in gold and black

Fittings are covered in black electric tape

Sprinkler Valve is painted black

Every part is primed and cemented, except
sprinkler valve joints which are tefloned

What do you think?

Nice cannon! Great paint(and tape) job! Looks nice.
All looks pressure rated n stuff. What pressure are you using in this?

There is just one thing you can do better next time: The shrader is now mounted on the back. This has two disadvantages:
-When you put the cannon on its back a lot of stress is put onto the shrader, with a good chance to fail/crack.
-It is always a good idea to put stuff through two layers of PVC instead of one. Thus place it where a fitting is.
Till the day I'm dieing, I'll keep them spuddies flying, 'cause I can!

I'm using about 100PSI, I already knew about the stress on the schrader valve, but I figured since it was more of a portable cannon, I would not really put it on the end of the barrel. If I do ever make a bigger cannon, I'll be sure to put the valve on the outside of the chamber between the cap and pipe at once. Thanks for the ideas.

Thanks, I don't actually shoot it at people, I thought it would be a funny looking photo.

I might be mistaken (it's hard to tell with the paint/tape) but It does in fact look as if the larger coupling is a DWV, as well as that bushing. You notice how the 1" bushing doesn't fully set in it and how short the larger coupling is?

See there I go being a spudder again, pickin' out the DWV and all

As far as the launcher goes, I am a fan of the gold/black combo. It looks comfortable to hold and shoot. Nice work there and welcome to the File O' Spuds.

very nice cannon! I like it. It is simple, clean and elegant with good colors. Oh, getting hit by a marshmallow out of a cannon...if in the face I bet it draws blood. The impact of its mass to someones neck could burst an artery and damage your wind pipe.
