paintball tank for bbmg

What tipe of threads does a paintball tank have? I want to have one as the air supply on a bbmg. I'm planing to make.

They have ASA threads.

Generally, you will want an ASA adapter. In terms of paintball, these are the little things that go on the bottom of a marker that the tank screws in to. The exhaust from a standard ASA is 1/8" NPT.

Another option is to go remote. This will get the tank away from the gun while still connecting to 1/8"NPT.

would that allow me to connect it directly to my gun or would I need a regulator?

You can buy a cheap adapter off ebay like this one for just $7.50, works a treat and has a 1/8" NPT female socket to connect to your BBMG.

Depends on the tank, my Ninja unit has a built in regulator that can be set from 450-850 psi in three stages.

Worth pointing out that paintball tank ASA threads are a very good match for 1/2" bsp threads, as I used here.

its says "pure energy" a 20oz tank. I dont think its got one cause it has a diagram and it says valve and tank. but no regulator

It doesn't seem to have a reg, so either you're stuck with the fill pressure or you need a separate reg.

Tanks listed for weight are CO2 tanks and are unregulated.

Nitrogen tanks are listed here for the Pure Energy brand.

yea thats similar to the one I got. would a regulator for air compressors work or do I need a paintball one?

EDIT: well seeing as I cant even afford car insurance a nitrogen tank is out of the question. lol.

What are you planning on filling it with? If it's liquid CO<sub>2</sub> then your regulator needs to withstand an input of at least 850 psi.

I guess liquid co2. I just take it to the paint ball shop and let them fill it up with what ever they want. lol. and wow. 850 is alot. I dunno if an air compressor regulator could take that. I know paint ball shops got regulators but I dont know how high they are.

Shop air compressor regulators are not built for the pressure. A welding supply has regulators for high pressure Argon, Oxygen, Helium, CO2, etc. Be safe. Use the right stuff.

Unless you are under a lot of pressure, you won't get super cooled CO2 pouring out. You will get dry ice snow.
