Let get back to talking about my pistol.

The rifle is under matinence, and will be posted when that is done, and you can all see the range for yourselves.

I am currently building a new type of valve for it. (my own NEW design.) and i will let you know when its done.

TEASER: the new valve is housed in a 2'' T but, does not have a piston, And goes from fully closed to fully open with the flick of a switch, but dose not take any electricity. Cost under 20 bucks, and requires no machine work.

Sounds too good to be true, unless you've decided to go valveless:

Waddya know, looks like you're reading off the same hymn sheet as me.

Except I cba making the 50mm (2") version I originally wanted so I'm making a smaller scale one which should fit into the £100 total cannon budget.

Enter yours into the competition ^_^

Contradiction yes?

BTW, my rifle is over 6 feet long. and will toss a bouncy ball a half mile easily.
Hmm. I smell inconsistency.

so you say that you simply climbed on that roof and found the ball, right ?? :D

lol dude you didn't fire it half a mile, not even 1/3 of a mile... you said that it was 0.5 mile because 95% of people really suck at estimating range.. and then when we questioned that.. you lied...

there is nothing wrong in being wrong but when you lied that really put you in a difficult situation

confess your sins and you might be forgiven :)

HAHAHAHA. dudes. really. Lemme re, build the rifle this weekend, and THEN i will post the ranges. which i expect to be over 1/2 mile.

As for the inconsistency, This gun,(The pistol) shoots bouncy balls. (1")
The rifle shoots steel slugs (.50'') but also has a 1" barrel which will shoot a bouncy ball. The idea that a bouncy ball will go 1/2 mile, is not absurd how ever, as both the .5'' and 1'' barrels are rifled for accuracy, and the path of a ball can easily be seen in the dark, as the balls glow at night. I did NOT climb onto a roof to find the ball, as the roof in the photo is a public mall.

Just wait until i pot the photos, and videos before you make any more comments.

Thank you

If you don't mind my asking, how does "glow in the dark" make those ranges any more feasible?
It might make confirming a range easier, but that's like suggesting a red car goes faster than an otherwise identical blue car...

Did you bother reading it?

Do you have any old photos of the cannon that you can post now? Just a simple picture will tell us pretty much all we need to know.

I agree. This does seem a little suspicious but i'm gonna be open.

Do you have any pictures?

Yes, I did. Your phrasing says that the "glow in the dark" nature of the ball makes a half mile range more feasible - the lack of sentence break implies the points about "more range" and "easier to see" are linked.
So, on that basis, I asked why you're asserting a point that is clearly nonsense.

I would also say, being no slouch as far as ballistics is concerned, that rifling would do little to improve the range of a spherical projectile, other than in consistency and repeatability.

The concept is absurd simply based on the poor ballistic coefficient of the projectile. Even assuming you're pushing the projectiles to 300 ms-1 (near the practical maximum for pneumatics) and with optimistic ballistic characteristics for a 1" bouncy ball, I can't even get a quarter mile range in trajectory simulations.
Does that thing kinda look like a big cat to you?

One: Dont argue with rag he knows what he's talking about and he will always win an argument
Two: Theres know way you could get a bouncy ball 1/4 of a mile with a spinkler, maybe a piston valve though
It could be about half of that but dont be ashamed if your not good at estimating range cuz im definatly not.
I thought 75m was 125m :D .

Anyway i like the pistol and im looking forward to see this god-like valve that you SAY YOU have.
