Heres a design i came up with today... what do you guys think? much more simple and cheap than my last piston valve design. i plan to up the measurements to:
Barrel- 3/4"
Chamber- 1 1/2"

the nail is going to be a problem by leaking

...unless it is epoxied, but the nail is quite unnecessary. Just make a proper barrel support.

i think its functions more as an ammo stop, even so you could just put it through the barrel instead of the entire assembly

yes it was originally an ammo stop then a barrel support... but im not using it in the build. i'm too worried about leakage and i dont wanna buy epoxy. i'll just put a little pice of wood under the barrel or something... unless you guys have any suggestions? other than that its pretty good right?

Do a search for barrel supports, I believe Hubb has some in his library...

Sorry, I haven't ever considered piston systems as an option before. But now that I've seen the simplicity of your design, I'm kind of intrigued in them. A whole new world of options has been set.

it looks great. the only thing i dont like about it (and all coxials) is loading the gun. you either have to take out the back end of the gun or jam the ammo down with a ramrod. Or if you use marbles or nails those usually slide down the barrel. you try using a nail dart of some sort. I'm no coaxial expert but i would upgrade to a bigger pilot or i'd mod the blow-gun.

Marffy may be no coaxial expert but he is certainly right, I would upgrade the blow valve. Even if the piston was sealed with o-rings, a blowgun only decreases performance. Use a ball valve or sprinkler valve and you will definitely get better performance. I would doubt your piston will even actuate with a pilot volume that big and using a blowgun.

ok i'll switch it to a ball valve if i make it. as of now i'm going with my first design... the T piston. 8)

is it worth buying a sprinkler valve and a blow gun to mod it, or is the performance of a ball valve even close?
