Living tissue over a metal endo-skeleton...

Just feel like keeping my teeth for a bit longer... :D

Patto..do be careful..the power behind it is incredible.I had to knock the hammervalve open with an actual hammer.
And I had to hit it hard too!

If anything fails it will be very dangerous.

So would it be a better idea to run the co2 through a reg down to say 400psi and use it that way?? That would still be plenty of power for what I need :D :D . Would the hammer operate alright at that pressure?

Also since it will be reged down would (sorry if this sounds dumb but we don’t get to do a lot with co2) that help it to last a little longer or is that just me being a optimists?

Since the gas would be used in the same volume at a lower pressure there would be less gas being used so the number of shots that you could get would increase.

So is there a good way to make a hammer valve for a Qev running @ 800psi ??

in order to reduce the amount of force needed to open the valve you could make it a partially balanced design

Yeah i've looked into this (BTB's - excample) but i couldn't understand how it worked. i need something like his push buttton but need it to be chamber sealing and travel through the "T" upwards .. (if that make's any sense ?? )

Can anybody help me with this please .... ?

the valve used by this guy is a partially balanced spool valve

:D

both balanced and unbalanced designs have their advantages and disadvantages... balanced valves can be opened easily regardless or pressure but that means they open as fast as you open them :)

force needed to open unbalanced valves will increase (or drop) as the pressure increases
but this can be a good thing as you can use the same principle that's at work in case of QEVs/piston valves (once the piston unseats air acts on the other side of it (which slams it open even more))

you already have a balanced valve but you didn't know it... you just have to attach the chamber to the other port (the one that now leads to the barrel)

possibly you'd need an o-ring near the other end of that bolt...

if you want to convert that to a partially balanced valve one side of it would have to have larger area than the other... then you just add a hammer and that's it (well you have to make sure that it seals and that at 800 psi the hammer would be able to open it... but it goes without saying I guess)
