You'd be surprised that Nerf Guns are slowly taking their rise in Australia :). In Singapore, Nerf guns are really popular and they have their tournaments where they win prize money and nerf guns.

I dunno you should try to get into nerf guns too... where abouts from Aus are you from?
It's Nerf or Nothing.

Don't start crying when I play this as my hobby, Paintball, Airsoft and Nerf are equally good hobbies, except you can play Nerf in public. Good day! Hmph!

I dunno lol, we might as well stick with what we have... you can make your own bb guns but you can't play it in the public... Unlike nerf guns you can play at a public park and no one would care.

Nerf has more free dome and if you really wanted nerf to hurt... here's a few pictures on heavily modded guns what they can do to you..

Nerf aren't for sissies... it's for people have the brains (obviously if you are from a nerfing forum you SHOULD) to cause more mayhem :)...

where abouts do you come from in Aus -_-?

maybe you guys should put in a request to add a nurfing showcase and discussion forums.
Oh god, no way. No way at all. Have a look at nerf haven and you'll see why. The last thing the forum needs is to be overrun with people from nerf haven. If you have a nerf gun- then sure, make a topic about it, post it, etc. But nerf forums seem like a bad idea.

Because a lot of them think as muzzle energy in terms of nerf darts. They think we all want to play nerf and we'll hurt people in doing so.

Or it may just be envy of more sophisticated construction techniques, a more mature (and generally more intelligent) userbase, and so on..

It's because most of the people on the NerfHaven think they know everything in the world about every kind of projectile producing item and they think they that unless you have a certain amount of posts, that you know jack $#!+ about anything.

Nerf HQ is a bit more open minded, but they still have some of those same tendencies.

This is from the home page of NerfHaven. Seems that they have a very exclusive forum.
Our validation waiting list is a topic of much consternation in the NIC. I have often tried to reduce this issue by shortening our queue to a manageable length. As recently as this month I had the queue down to a month's wait time. I often think this will improve the atmosphere around this site, and I am always wrong. The shorter the queue, the more problems we have.

As such, I'm instating a new policy. There will be no mass validations. If you are an applicant, and would like your membership to be validated, you will need to submit a brief essay. Within that essay we want you to tell us:

Your Age Bracket (<13, 13-18, 19-30, 31+)
Your General Nerf Experience (more is not necessarily better)
Why you want to post on our site
What you would bring to this community/why we should validate your account.
There is no way in hell I'd wait a month to post on a forum. Go SpudFiles!!!
Yea, that's definitely going to get you at least a tazer.

Lol! No no, don't make a nerf forum about it because seems a bit bleh. This site is meant for destruction. However, I was just wondering if the Aussies on this site would play Nerf since paintball is hell expensive and airsoft is illegal. It's all fun and game, great way to get fit since you're running around ALOT... and nerf darts are reusable...

But yeah, I think we should get back on topic lol. I dunno anymore =\.

yeah im from ACT, a few of my friends play nurf.... once in 6 months but they still play i guess......

hmm... i was to get into nurf, i would be making my own guns and not 'modding them'. once my and one of my mates spent a whole day modding a nurf pistol.... it ended up shooting 1 extra meter and had an awesome paint job. (not rly worth it)

but i guess i could give it a go.... like you said, its a great substitute to paintball

guys we've had a thread complaining about the state of the online Nerf modding community,

I actually received my nerfhaven membership over a year after I applied,

so this compressor thing is interesting but those 12v mini air compressors are really really horrible, they're really loud, the flow is really bad and they burn out really fast, they're virtually unusable for typical spudguns because they take too long and they overheat, they can handle higher pressures but they typically will overheat by then,
a hand pump is faster, and for more capacity I'd stick to regulated back pack air supply made from soda bottles

Currently, I am in the process of modding a Longstrike with a small air compressor to give it much longer range, and hopefully much higher accuracy once the dart is at a high enough speed for the barrel to channel it instead of just causing drag. My design involves the pump from a broken jump pack like what you would keep in your car, and I'm just using a small pressurized canister for my holding tank. I have a gauge hooked up to the canister, so that I know how long to run the compressor for to get to the desired psi. As for power, I'm using the Ryobi One+ batteries, and using the base of a drill set into the top of the rifle for the receptor. The reason for the particular batteries (and here's where I bring in logic so you know it isn't sponsored) is because the One+ batteries have a button on them you can press, and it shows the current level of charge on the battery. The whole thing is for a large-scale Nerf war on my college that we have every year or so, so when it's complete I'll post some pictures and the specs on what I used if it turns out well.
