so is this intended as a commercial prototype?
When you talk about less lethal ammunition, my mind immediately goes to crowd control
It all certainly looks excellent, well machined parts, clean appearance, looks like the sort of thing built for mass production

This launcher is what I designed after meeting with Military and Police officers and demonstrated earlier launchers such as the Eclipse revolver and prototypes that used a moving bolt and magazine system. I have interest from a number of foreign military and security forces and am trying to get a large enough order to produce a few hundred of this model.

Since this is a site for creators, I am posting it without any company name or contact information. Eventually I would like to start paying PC-Guy for advertising.

I will post some videos as soon as I get some made later in the week. It is going the anodizer tomorrow for a quick color change to black.

as always this is a amazing build! the work it must take to design and build one of these things is far beyond my patience

How is the weight of this thing? it looks pretty big (of course it is, its 40mm...) but does all the aluminum keep the weight down?

I only have one small criticism of it though, the blocky receiver looks kind of out of place next to all of the smooth concave lines of the rest of the launcher. Its really a small thing, but rounding out the edges of the magazine and receiver would really add to the look of the launcher

Looks fantastic, is there a reason why you moved to an inline magazine from a revolver though? I would imagine faster reloading time was an issue, as well as being able to quickly switch from one type of ammunition to another.

The reload times are significantly quicker, especially since we can load individual rounds directly into the mag with it inserted in the launcher.

Regarding the blockiness, this is due to some air porting requirements, but we are addressing this my removing some of the forward plate and doing an angle cut from the back plate along the sideplates to give it a guillotine blade look from the side. I will post some conceptuals soon.
I am waiting for the part to unify the air to the mag. I will post that soon too. It will lighten the gun over a pound and a half in that configuration. it is currently about 14 pounds with the air tank. There is no reason why we couldn't reduce this to under 10.

The trigger is a cartridge valve?? If it's not, then why ?

The trigger is actually a cartridge valve in a brass block. This trigger and grip assembly was from an Eclipse launcher and will be re-worked soon. At that point it will use a clippard cartridge valve minus the button. We are making a "real" trigger with a mechanical safety to actuate the cartridge valve. This will provide for a slight mechanical leverage advantage and make the launcher more "regular gun" like.

It seems that once we eliminate the front regulator, we will be able to trim the receiver to the same level as the top of the grip. huge weight savings there. Thie launcher is operational, but is going to get some needed design work. Should have some new rounds to shoot by this weekend. Looks like I might be showing it at the Internation Police Chiefs Conference in Orlando this weekend as well. Baptism by fire so to speak. or air that is...

I am using this tank ($50) to mount under the magazine with a RECTUS quick disconnect. The tank is mated to a NINJA paintball SLP (super low presssure) tank regulator. 3000psi down to 275psi in one stage. This allows easy disconnect and reconnect. I have gone up to 500 psi with the quick connects and have had no problems. They are double shut off type. This will make it easy to swap out air tanks for both the mag and/or launcher.

I think this is how I will ride. The front tank has been removed and the regulator put in it's place in the higher 1/4" port. I placed a 350psi safety valve in the lower one. Where the regulated air was being fed into the gun I placed a 1/8" pushbutton air relief valve to discharge the gun. The mini bottle is attached with a quick disconnect and the clip it sits in will be attached to the base of the magazine(not pictured, needs to be shortened to 4 rounds for this geometry). Weight 13.0 This tank fires 7 rounds at 275psi before dropping off. I am going to attach a picatinny rail to the underside of the main regulator and put a vertical foregrip there that holds a screwdriver, o-rings and an allen wrench inside of it.

That's a fine piece of work. Will this device be regulated by the BATF or not? Available to civilians?

No issues regarding BATF. There is no rifling, nor is there a firing pin. We are anticipating that this will make it easier for overseas export to our troops and our allies. Off to the anodizer...

When will the ammunition be available for purchase? Such as the 40mm foam rockets
