Hi guys I'm new to the site but have been a big fan of the spud cannons since I started tinkering with smoke bombs and electronics.
When I found this site it was a god send, I always hated the fact that u could only get a single shot out of them, but know with all your expertise and Knowledge on modified sprinkler valves my first gun will be
A Pneumatic Cannon DRAGONNORV !!!

so here are my prototype pictures
PS just ruff build to test if the system works then ill make it look realistic

This is the part that worries me its plastic and is secured by PTFE thread seal tape

The blow gun I'm using the nozzle bit is busy drying its PVC glued to the original screw top and I'm going to re-screw it into the top and drilled through the top cap so it fits snugly.(ill post more on that tomorrow night)

started on the Stock of the gun used pencil to shade the wood to give u a better idea of what it will look like in the end.

Check the pressure rating on the blowgun. It will be fine as a trigger up to the pressure rating. At higher pressure you are in possible fail mode.

What concerns me in the most immediate way...is that you've got a co2 tank hooked up with the plastic bits.

Tell me you don't intend to pressurize that contraption with co2....Please?

If you dare answer "yes", you get one of these...

Agreed with the above, unregulated CO₂ will blow that valve to smithereens. Good for about 150 psi though

well I'm still going to get the correct tubing connector but that was my main concern what are my options
how do I
A. get it to handle the pressure
or
B. regulate the pressure down to 150

A. use a better rated valve, say a QEV (still not guaranteed to hold the pressure but some peopme have used them) or a spring-loaded ball valve

B. Buy a regulator, eBay paintball supplies would be your most economical bet.

I vote regulator....

I have a Palmers pursuit female stabilizer (always brings a smirk )...pretty good regulator. Threads onto the bottle, and has 1/8"npt outlet. Adjustable from 0 right to 900psi. Lots of room for growth.

Not cheap though.

I'm sure you can find a reg for less that'll work for ya. If you wish to....find one, post it here, and someone can verify that it'll do what you need before you lay down your hard earned...not all regs are equal.

Aside....co2 at room temp is ~850psi. It WILL reach much higher pressures if it's warmer. I'm guessing that since you put a 300psi gauge on there, that you didn't know this....now ya do.

You've also hooked your blowgun up backwards. It's alright to try it that way, (maybe you get lucky?) but I wouldn't expect it to seal.

Thanks for pointing that out I just put everything together for a quick photo.

so a Regulator it is PS I live in South Africa currently hobby shops and the same brands u have are hard to come across but ill try my best.

ya seeing as how i live in South Africa (very hot) id better ramp it up then

Instead of a regulator, you can hook the CO₂ tank directly to a pressure washer valve along these lines, and depending on your projectile choice, use a detent to allow pressure buildup and compensate for the low flow, add a magazine and you have a semi-auto easily

Nothing works....and you BOTH know it.

that looks a bit complicated for me to do on my first go but i can see the concept if the regulator idea doesn't work ill have to try my hands on that

PS. what do u think of the stock everybody I'm busy finishing it off now as we speak

ow ya and i wish to shoot these



but at a real paintball sniper or close to Level.

So todays question is how much PSI could my sprinkler valve handle the blowgun says 12bar.

and also if i wanted this to be at the max the sprinkler valve can handle which of the plastic parts need to be removed LEFT or RIGHT or BOTH

PVC glue? I hope you don't mean PVA

Get yourself some proper epoxy, check out the how-tos here and here - or at least use Araldite/JB weld or similar.

Sprinkler valves are normally rated to 10 bar max, as to the plastic connections the sprinkler valve will blow up long before they do
