Still, it's been used successfully before. In the case of the Anics A-3000, the barrel is in effect the hammer (which explains the agricultural trigger Rolling Eyes)
agreed, however it is a 'relatively' well made airgun
It would be hard to achieve that with a homemade construction

OK, during school today, I decided that making a gun that works is better than going with some hairbrain design untested. SO I decided to buy the clipard valve P_S has helpfully provided.

I looked at the valve again, in order to fire, one has to press DOWN on it, meaning its at a 90 degree angle, what I need is a 180 degree valve, where I push it left and it fires right, or I push it right and it fires left. This only works if I push it down, and it'll fire left/right

http://www.clippard.com/store/byo_contr ... valves.asp

Can someone help me BUILD one? 'Cause I have no idea how I'm supposed to do it. Basically, its a straight (180 degrees) valve with a spring return and a stem. When its left as is, pressure is vented via exhaust. When spring is pressed down, air. Ex:Spring on left, exhaust on the right. When spring is left as is, air is vented out of a hole to the atmosphere, when spring is pressed, the air is vented out to the exhaust on the right. I noticed how you can't link the builds, so just tel me the build please, you have my thanks

Will this work?:

Valve Function:3way
Valve Porting:Normally Closed
Port Size:1-8 NPT
Valve Action:Spring Return
Valve Options: Cartridge Version
Seal Options:Buna Seal
Finish Options: Bright Brass

I don't think I understand what you mean. Tech's QDV works just like you described... or the design I posted on the previous page

The design you posted only moves the back part, I rather it moves the back part of the cylinder. And as for the valve MJVO-3, I think I mis-interpreted it, just as a run down. air source though threaded part( top of the pic) the metal thing sticking out is the spring and and other 1/8 NPT port is for the the barrel? What's the little exhaust hole for?

At least, thats how I want it, on a second look, the threaded part is the out, which means if the spring is pushed, air flows from chamber to barrel straight forward, I want the flow to be at a 90 degree angle

Heres a diagram

Image

I also need a air tank 1-1.5 inches OD thats about 6 inches long. 500 PSI max

Perhaps you shouldn't attempt to build ANY device until you acquire more knowledge, understanding and become more capable.

OR

You could learn by doing, which is the way many people learn to build.

Are you getting Frequent Flyer Miles each time you post?

No dude, build on on the site, http://www.clippard.com/store/byo_contr ... valves.asp

I don't nearly know as much about valves as I want to, so I need help for the time being, watch me 2 years later helping out newbies on this site, WATCH ME BE THE NEXT JSR

No, but I get credit toward my credit score, its around the ~800 right now

The Clippard valve is a 3 way valve... your diagram is saying you only need a 2 way. I think the MJV-2 is the valve you need.

What's the difference again? Also, same problem here, look at my diagram again, the in and out are reversed

if you were using a 3-way valve then it would be to fill then pilot a piston valve, but if you are use the valve as the main valve then you would only need the 2-way, a 3-way to fill then pilot a piston valve would be much better performance than using a 2-way because opening time would be much less and flow would be much better

edit: this link might help you http://www.daerospace.com/HydraulicSyst ... esDesc.php

also do you mind if i ask how old you are?

There's no age restriction on this forum last I checked o.o

I'm gonna seem like a kid..but..IN YO FACE(I build a semi working protype, it's not working because the corners I cut out of wood was not perfect, but I'll be making one out of 0.04 aluminum once I order it

I forgot to add it, but theres a seal on the left side of the spring too

just one thing that's been getting on my nerves:

You may not have very much artistic talent, but if you maybe spent an extra ten minutes or so on you're diagrams, this whole thread might just make a whole lot more sense. In turn, this will allow other members to get what you are saying, making it easier for us to help you.

how can it be semi working if it dosent work? anyways i looked at your diagram and from what i can tell it will automatically open when you put pressure in it

ok this took me only 15mins to do, top is a 3-valve, in the middle is a 2-way valve and at the end is what i think your diagram was trying to say but with the ports around the right way for it to work

I'm a month shy of 15, the thing works, it can open and close with one pump of air, but I don't wanna break it. I won't consider it working until its on my gun.
