The BBinator - work in progress + damage pics

My first ever pneumatic rifle!
Materials:
- BB rifle barrel, 6,03 mm ID encased in a 1 cm brass tube
- green gas container
- schrader valve
- piston valve inside a 1/2 T
- ball valve
- blowgun
- wood :D

It's still a work in progress as I only have time during the weekends.

As you can see, at the moment the barrel assembly is taped to the gas container until I manage to figure out how to improve my wood carving skills :D

Image

Operation is quite simple: turn off the ball valve, pressure the chamber through the schrader valve, pull the barrel, insert the BB

Image

push the barrel back in place

Image

turn on the ball valve and ready to fire.
I hope to finish the loading mechanism this weekend (that is attach a pin to the barrel so I could manipulate it easier) and the buttstock

and then I can sight it properly and show some damage.
At 7 bar a 0,25 g plastic BB almost penetrated a 3 mm solid aluminium plate from 10 m.
Feel free to help me improve the BBinator :D

OK, some damage pics:
7 bar, 0.25g BB plastic, distance 2 m

The dent in the upper part is from a miss (yeah, I wear glasses :D )

Looks good, how did you attach the green gas container to the ball valve?
By 3mm aluminium foil do you mean kitchen foil or solid aluminium plate?
If you want to make a simple barrel support you can have a look at the cannon in my signature, the barrel support was just made with a pice of wood and two holesaws.

Oops, my mistake for not being clear.
I drilled the gas container, screwed the ball valve and the schrader valve and used a lot of epoxy to make sure there are no leaks.
As for the aluminium foil, you have to excuse me, English is not my native language, I mean solid aluminium plate.

The blowgun is from Praktier, a local DIY store. It's a cheap model, rated for 10 bar max.

3mm solid aluminium plate? at 7bar with a 0.25g bb? I need to see it :o but as that big chamber only delivers one shot, I guess it´s possible...

I like it! Very cool. But I doubt the 3mm aluminum plate penetration

It didn't penetrate. I said almost penetrated.
