Depends on the application / design. Usually, pressure trumps volume.

it is a burst disc cannon and I use t mainly to shoot heavy projectiles like ice slugs or paint filled balloons
its a 2" barrel and chamber of about 283.25176416 ci

so it would be a better idea to use a high mount of air instead of high pressure :D

I use high volume with low pressure to lob raw eggs nearly a football field length.

Huge pumpkin cannons launch with low pressure and huge volume with long barrel. It really depends on ammo and what the ammo can take. Given your fragile ammo (besides ice slugs) you might consider an in between design. Mid sized cannon at 80psi sounds good to me. People use full sized pneumatics at common pressures to launch water balloons.
