It might not be quite a looker yet but I like how you've put it together. I'm looking forward to seeing updates on the progress of this build.

Can you not get some Aluminium or Brass sheet (3 - 4mm) and cut it out with a hacksaw.

Use a sharp HSS or cobalt drill bit and "pulse" the trigger on the hand drill, This will also stop snagging which could hurt you, Also if you are using drill bits upwards of 5mm it would be easier to drill a pilot hole first, And don't forget to Center punch.

I am trying to build something like that on my own, but I can only see 2 pictures of your valve. The others seem to be gone. Can you please reupload them?
I also checked the date, so I don't ask for pictures which have been gone years ago.

By the way, as far as I can see, its a really nice hammer you gut there!
