Cutting the stop rings from bushings and couplings

The easiest way I've found to remove the stop collars from bushings and couplings is with a router with a flush trim, or a pattern bit. If you have a router table it makes it even easier. Thought this might help someone.

Even knowing that'll work and probably work well...my fingers just started twitching in memory of a near miss with a jointer. :shock:

Think I'll stick with the lathe and boring bar. :)

Nice lift though. 8)

Not a bad idea, however we all do not have a router. I just use a dremmel. Takes 5 minutes. Good advice though..
