Hey guys,

I've attached a rough plan of how I'm planning to incorporate a semi-auto, bolt action-style mag feed into my rifle I'm currently building. Its a simple 3-way + QEV setup.

Essentially it would function by moving the slide forward and the spring pushing the round up and into the barrel. When the slide is returned to it's original position, the round would be held in place by the magnet detent and the barrel is then sealed by the o-rings.

I'm just not too sure whether or not the o-rings would be sufficient to make the barrel air tight. NB: I'm only operating the rifle at around 100 psi and using it in the backyard as a bit of fun.

If anyone has tried something similar and has any feedback it would be much appreciated!

Ps: once its completely finished (hopefully a couple of weeks) I'll upload some pics of the build.

hi i will be back with some ideas bot o rings should hold a little over 120 psi depending on mounting also i like the type of gun that u are making but i think that if you make a removeable mag you may be happiest because it would make it an easy airsoft gun reload and it wouldnt be al that hard also no mater what you are doing make sure that u have somthing to hold your shot in place that will not deform it
try to do somthing like this the triangles just move the bb
you may have to cut noches into the barrell so move the pushing plates(triangles) a litile bit forward and make the rest of the breech longer so the black o rings or dotsdont allow presure leakage the blue tube is an idea for a remove mag if you want plans for that just pm

Looking good... one thing about your 3 way valve, are you sure it works as is...

Yeah it is an AUG, it'll look a bit better once its shaped and painted etc but that be done soon!

JSR: I initailly had a problem with it due to connecting the intake/pilot the wrong way around but now its fine. The black plate that you can see on the bottom leaks a bit of air but I have minimized this by using a piece of rubber as a gasket type seal. The trigger was initially a roller ball and I made a steel plate and attached it as in the image and it works perfectly. The little bit of extra leverage makes it very easy to fire.

well what i would do is cut the fore grip off and attach a vertical or 45 degree angled one you can force them on sometimes and then carve a good grove then just screw in place. well done so far hope you keep us updated .

sorry about the lack of pictures explaining but,
I use a sliding bolt to simply interrupt the flow of ammo going into the chamber(spring fed).

that way you simplify your design and don't have to engineer a sliding breech.
I use ~16mm marbles in 17mm copper pipe and the bolt is position so that it;
1. holds/pushes the round into the chamber
2. seals off and prevents missfeeds/ overfeeds

that way I can go from bolt action or leave the bolt open and have semi auto.(detent inside the breech)

good luck and good work with the wood router nice straight line for your barrel.

Yeah I would rather a simple design to begin with then take it from there. Any pictures of your system would be really helpful! I cant quite picture how it works.
