Hey there everyone I'm wanting to build a 1/2 piston valve. But I'm having some trouble on finding a male tee to use. I'm just not sure if I'm supposed to use a 1/2 male compression tee or just a standard tee. Thanks in advanced

1/2" is small to begin with so I would take a "compression tee" if you mean a tee with a smooth inside and outer threads.

edit:
Sorry, I looked up compression tee and I don't think it will fit your needs.
Find a tee with outer threads and a smooth surface inside or a tee with inner threads + 1/2" male to male fittings (smooth surface inside).

I just wanted to try make a piston valve like this. http://www.spudfiles.com/resources/image/17438

And I think this is a compression tee use in tho piston valve

Yea, it looks like a compression tee but without the fittings and the brass rings on it.

For comparison, a fully equipped compression tee....

You have to keep in mind that you need a good surface inside the tee to house the piston and enough space for it to move away from the seat.

It'd probably be easier to just use a female tee and threaded nipples, that way you have long enough travel and guaranteed smoothness.
