Hi want to introduce myself and thank you for havin me here on Supdfiles. I recently built my first pneumatic canon for the National bring your Kid to work day. It shoots tennis balls. The canon is all schedule 80 PVC, the reservoir is 6" x 34" and the barrel is 2.5" x 40". We charged up to 150psi and can launch a ball 150 yards easy. we also loaded a tennis ball filled with pennies and shot it thru 3 pieces of 1/4" ply wood at 10 yards, and launched the weighted ball over 250 yards. WE are using a 24 volt solenoid charge valve and digital pressure regulator, firing valve is a 2" 24 volt solenoid operated gate valve. We have all the controls set up on a Lab View program and can charge and fire in about 2.5 seconds. The kids day event went well with the canon being the definite highlight of the day. We want to upgrade the canon for next years event to be full semi auto and have the elevation and windage fully automated. The elevation is working on a fast screw gear shaft that is just manually operated now, and the windage is just a centered swivel base that is also manual. I'm looking forward to disusing options on how to properly attach a feed tube and obtain a true semi auto function. Thank you Jamie

Best of Luck to you Jamie. We have some experts here on such cannons. I have heard of atleast one gas-operated concept reguarding a combustion tennis ball launches but it is also incredibly dangerous unfortunately, due to the nature of the mechanism.

Again good luck!
