Low cost High pressure compressor

So I've recently got into PCP air rifles which require up to 4500 PSI charge pressure, and initially thought I would have to go to paintball or scubs shops to top up my carbon scuba tank. Untill I found this...

http://www.ebay.com/itm/222702809678

These compressors usually run in the 2-3k$ range, but China has done it again! I can fill my 6.8 liter carbon scuba tank from 0 PSI to 4500 PSI in about an hour (not counting the time between changing out the bucket of cooling water every 15 minutes), which is also faster than those 2-3k$ compressors. For $320 dollars. Sweet!

Just wanted to make sure you guys know about these, for those who enjoy using high pressure (JSR), I've gone the hand pump route and after having this compressor I'll never touch one again lol. I've done quite a bit of research on the durability of them, and from what I hear with proper maintenance these will run for 100+ hours before the internals need a rebuild. It also comes with a full rebuild and seal kit.

Anywho thought you guys should know about these little beauties.

Happy Spudding!

Almost pressed buy, but saw the shipping cost.

Guess I'll be sticking with the bicycle pump ;(

Ohh sorry I forgot to mention there are a lot of different vendors that carry it, all with varying prices. I had to sift through a number of different pages on ebay to find mine for $320 shipped. I bought mine from a seller named "premiumautopart" listed at $305.99, ended up being right around $320 all said and done. It is a little pricey but when you take into account the cost to have tanks refilled multiple times it actually starts to make money. And one thing to know is a moisture seperator is also recommended, either a large volume of dessicant on the intake, or a high pressure rated tube with absorbent material inside on the output. Rust inside of steel high pressure vessels is a good way to ruin ones day;)

I live a 25 minute walk from the ocean...I never considered rust inside compressors and I realize I should have considering everything in my garage gets a fine coating of rust with only a couple days exposure (that's why I like to work in PVC).

Yah compressors are notorious for collecting water in the tanks, there should be a small valve at the lowest part of the tank to dump it out. Living by the ocean won't help you either...

Check the review on this by joerg sprave on YouTube! He tests it and takes it apart and does a full review. Looks like it works well, check it out. (Sorry no link)

Interesting find!
Seller information
wankedastore
Interesting choice of name...

:D
(not counting the time between changing out the bucket of cooling water every 15 minutes)
Surely it would not be too difficult to put together a system which circulates water through a heat exchanger allowing it to operate without intervention.

Also, that 97.6% eBay rating... those follow a scale not exactly suited to a hundred points. Usually, big sellers with up to 98% are sometime garbage... lol. As Spudinator said, though, there are other sellers.

Yah some kind of closed system would be great, but I don't want to add any more bulk or weight for transportability. If I were to make some kind of charge station I would probably do that though. The thing already weighs 50 pounds or so lol.

Got one of these in 2015, before they were sold on eBay. Added a savaged Suzuki Bandit cooling grid with 2 big ass fans to it, still overheat during summer with 10L of water. Even attached another compressor to it feeding air at 30 psi.
Died within 2 year of use (two summers basically, I only play with HPA during holidays). Disassembled it, nothing appears to be worn, but it won't fill beyond 1500 psi. Suspect its the one way valve separating the first stage from the second is leaking but cleaning and remake a smoother part still doesn't work.
Currently planning on buy one of these

Yes, if you had to buy it. But if you could acquire one  :D
