Ultimate parts list

I am 28 and just got into this a couple months ago. After seeing Mythbusters chicken gun I just had to build some small scale stuff until I get all the parts piled up to build a chicken gun.

Any way I have browsed through and I have read quite a bit and see quite afew things that were not in my "Backyard balistics" book. So will you all post a dream list of parts ie. sprinkler valves and the like to make the hardest flingin potatoe gun around.

I have built the standard combustion gun, and also the pneumatic gun from the backyard book as well. Then I took my pneumatic and ramped up the size of the air chamber since seeing some of the insanity on this forum.

Well in the dream list there are no sprinklers or other 'weak' valves. I've wanted to see just how far and hard I could blast... anything. So lets go, fittings for a dual 8"x36" chamber, two of Gort's maulers, and multiple 10'-15' barrels from 2" to around 8" for launching damn near anything. OH and a very larger compressor.

Oh well, if its a dream list...

An set of dual inline asco 'Red-Hat' valves running a set of aluminum pistons perfectly machined for two carbon fiber coaxial valves mounted in swing-gimble style mounted tripod powered by dual Proctor Cambel 400 PSI compressor motors....

I could go on....

I am happy. I've got everything once on my dream list on the swat gun. Though but it wasn't cheap. with replacing nearly half of the cannon comes cost (replacing the valve, pilot vent valve twice, the tee under the valve, reducing fittings on one of the air chambers, replacing the 6' long, 4" air chambers with 5 foot long, 6" ones). It has cost me well over $450.00, though.

If there was one thing I could have, then a 10' long 6" diameter barrel, and sch 80 air chambers and fittings so I could crank it up to 160 psi with no second thoughts. I will take it up to 120 max now.

These Valves will give you the best performance possible, a single one would be great for a tennis ball barrel, and two of them would be amazing on a 3+ inch bore launcher, but would also require a very large chamber. (6" or so)

(2) 1/4" x 5" length of air hose
(2) 1/4" MNPT Brass hose barbs
(1) 1/4" Brass tee
(1) 1/4" Brass hose barb
(1) 1/4" X 10' length of air hose
(1) 1/4" MNPT Brass hose barb
(1) 1/4" x 1/2" Brass Ball Valve
(4) 6" Acrylic disks
(2) 6"-10" length of 6" diameter foam
(2) 3" diameter steel washers
(2) 6"-10" long bolt (1/4" screw size diameter)
(10) 1/4" screw size nut
(20) 6" circles of neoprene foam rubber
(2) 4" circles of 3/16" neoprene rubber
(2) 6" lengths of 4" SCH 80 PVC pipe

(4) 6" X 4" SCH 80 PVC reducing bushing
(2) 4" lengths of 4" SCH 80 PVC pipe
(1) 6" SCH 40 PVC tee
(1) 6" length of 6" PVC pipe
(1) 6" SCH 40 PVC female adapter

As for barrels...

1) 4" SCH 80 X 40' (SCH 80 to be rigid, so it would not bend as much)
2) 5" SCH 40 X 20'
3) 6" SCH 40 X 15'
4) 8" SCH 40 X 10'

All PVC as for now

And hey, if I wanted a paintball barrel that would have a 1:1 ratio with the rest of the gun, it would only be about 1200 feet long...

Notice that I included some items more than once; this is just because I just didnt feel like combining them all together. Also, I did not include PVC glue, PVC primer, teflon pipe tape, quick-disconnect adapters, and a few other things as well

Is that just a list of random parts or to make something?

Looks like his list if to make one huge ass canon. Mine seems simple compared to the rest, guess I'm just easy to please.

Hmm my dream list would have to be:

12 inch diametre pn 1000 steel pipe 60 feet long(x2)
12 inch to 6 inch steel reducer (x2)
6 inch steel 90 deg. elbow (x4)
2x 6 inch steel mauler valves made by gort
a 6 inch steel tee
6 inch to 2 inch steel reducer
100 feet of steel 2 inch pipe.

Probably never gunna happen but, Imagine a 999 bar shot?

^ I'm liking that idea. Getting about 15,000 psi could be tricky though.

No, not really, you can but type T nitrogen tanks with a 60000 PSI operation pressure. And they only cost 1200 dollars a piece!
