Ok bear with me on this one..... It's an idea my brain concocted last night but it's a little out there.

So, I've always wanted to make an air powered hand grenade for airsoft or whatever but the challenge was creating the delay.

I was looking at a paintball site and came across a bleeder valve. It's a sort of pressure release valve that bleeds air out of a line when it exceeds the set pressure. The pressure can be set with different springs. I think they were for 25 psi, 50 psi, and 100 psi.

Now, If I were to make a chamber closed off and tapped for a bleeder valve and a schrader, I could fill that chamber to a high pressure and have the valve release it slowly into a smaller chamber. This smaller one would have a union/burst disc at one end andthe other end would be sealed off around the bleeder.

So I fill the reservoir chamber, and throw the grenade. As air leaks by into the small chamber containing bb's or powder, the burst disc holds it all back. When it finally gives, everything shoots out.

This might be a little hard to build, but I think I have it right... more on that later (yes there will be crappy Paint diagrams)

So what do you think?

Sounds good, though expensive, hard to build, and harder to seal. And all the BBs or powder is going to be blasted out the one end. What if that end happens to be pointing towards you?

well to be honest I hope to use for something else... something pyrotechnic and against forum rules so let's not go there.

Here's the crappy diagrams I promised:

in the upcoming presidential election, there will be several candidates who will be running, one of whom is Hillary Clinton. Now WAIT A SECOND!!! I though there was some sort of rule that prevented someone from serving more than two terms in office. Vote Against Hillary: Presidential Elections 08

I've posted my design for this plenty of times... I would like a link for the bleeder valve though.

sorry if that came off as being an ass.

You could cushion it to make sure it won't.

In the woods where it would fall on dirt shouldn't do any harm.

But really, I want to use it for something else *cough*AP*cough*

To DETONATE a highly sensitive explosive. The burst of air should suffice, hopefully.

You no what it sounds too easy… and I don’t see it having a very wide blast radius (no barrel) do the BBs just shoot out the end? If so what happens if the end is pointing strait down, or back at you? On a side not it looks like that German stick grenade (what was it called again? I’ll give whoever gets it right 50spudbuxs)

?????? I was just stressing the point, I know most of what I said was redundant, but redundancy is good! If it weren’t for redundancy we’d only have one eye, with only one eye you’d have no depth perception which makes it hard to judge distance, which in turn make’s it hard to shoot.
