Due to the inability of the self proclaimed "SPUDMASTER" of the SGTC, Mr. Joel Suprise, to answer his phone or e-mail, and his apparent inability to fill orders, I am seriously thinking of making/selling my own version of the "Supah Valve".
A little background on me: I have a degree in industrial design and engineering, and for the past 3 years I've been designing for the paintball industry. A few of the top markers on the market are a direct result of my work. when it comes to engineering a pneumatic valve system, to put it simply, I know what I'm doing.

I am currently developing my own version of the valve (actually, 2 styles of 2 versions). the valve is built in a 3" T like the supah valve, however, the inlets/outlets will be larger (2.5" instead of 2" ), and flow rates will be slightly higher. I also believe I can get this valve to the market for around $80-$100...significantly less expensive.

What I need to know is, Will any of you be interested in purchasing said valve? do you think theirs a market for it?

There will be a market but it'll take some time to get it going due to the fact Joel is well known and respected and you know he is doing a good job. But the waiting times may bring people to you(and the cost) when people trust you and know your work it should be good from there on in.

Once I figure out the right people, I'll send one or two people valves to test and see what I can do.. (It'll take a few weeks though), as long as they will post HONEST and UNBIASED opinions, be it good or bad.

put it in a 4" tee, and make it 3" porting.

Well, the Supra Valve allready has some competition, the Mauler Valve. Both have been tested and produced great results, (from what i read hear on spudfiles). You mentioned something being on the market as a direct result of your work, i'll bite. What is it? Paint ball markers/rilfes??? I'd like to see what you got, even if it's a drawing done in MS paint or something. Welcome to spudfiles.

If you can get the advertising then theres a market for it.

Joel has an enourmous waiting list for cannons and cannon parts and theres only so many people that want to wait 6 months for a valve.

Way to go, just leave me off the list...
I would be glad to test a valve, though I don't have any cannons big enough...

While having a 3" tee with 2.5" porting is certainly a good idea, there is one problem: availability of 2.5" fittings. Sure, you can buy them off of www.mcmaster.com; but many buyers would probably not want to go to this length. To remedy this problem, just offer an option that will allow the customer to purchase adapters which will bring the inlet and outlet to either 2" or 3", which are very common pipe sizes.

Good luck on your valve; there is a lot of competition out there for the best valve (well, I suppose there are only two contenders for the 2" porting and up class (sgort87 and joel); but now there are three)

I just lurk around the forums these days. If i see a problem I fix it, but i don't post much anymore.

I'd be willing to try one of these valves, as I've never experienced the power of a piston valve for myself (damn lathe sits around because i don't have the damn proper tools). I've never really ventured outside of sprinkler valves and QEVs.
