Marble Copper Piston Cannon

I've made a new pneumatic cannon and this time its made copper pipes.
The chamber diameter is 22mm.(20mm inside diameter)
The barrel is diameter 18mm, good for small marbles.(16mm inside diameter)
The valve is a barrel sealing valve.It sits inside a 22mm T.
The piston is made out 2 rubber pieces behind two washers on a threaded rod.

Picture of the piston made in paint.

Enjoy all the pictures and give a bunch of pictures.
(maybe I'm here not a very active person here because I was most active on the spudtech forums)

pyromaniac:
Nope, its very easy to solder, just clean the pipe and fitting, apply some flux inside the fitting and on the pipe. Heat the fitting and add some solder.

^It might be looking for a slightly more in-depth guide than that.

Nice launcher - what sort of power and penetration do you get from that?

I haven' t tested it yet of penetration on wood or something.
But i'm making a wooden box with a hole(diameter barrel)in.
I will place in the box a metal sheet or something else and see if it can go throught it.I make this box for safety, if it will bounce back the marble will not bounch on me but on the walls of the box.
I will post pics thursday or friday.

I've seen similar (but rather larger) cannons go straight through 1mm steel, and put rounds half way through 2mm.

I'd reckon you might be able to make a mess of 1mm steel.

With a marble or something else as ammo?

Marbles can go through, but it's a little bit of a challenge.

The result on the 2mm steel was done with a sharpened steel bolt.

Ok, do you know what cannon it was or have you got a link to it?

It was my brother's copper cannon. I would link to some pictures, but the hosting they're on isn't working right now.
