has anyone ever tried to use a fire extinguisher handle as a port??or even a main valve???it seems like it would be good flow if u took out a few parts....all u would ahve to do is take the hose off of the front and then take the nozzel off....it seems it would be like an automatic 1/2 ball valve...if i get bored shooting my new gun today ill try it and see how much flow i get compared to a ball valve....and it is in a conveinient handle like trigger and it could be used for over under pneumatics because it is a 90 degree hole through it..what do u guys think

i never would have thought of using a fire extinguishe handle for a spud gun. i have heard of using the tank but not the hanle. i wish i would have thought of that . i duno if it will work or not. post back if you try it and tell us how it went.

I used one as a main valve for a small caliber pneumatic. I designed it to work just like a pellet gun. I didn't finish it because I needed a lot more pressure to be using a "hammer valve" setup. As a pilot valve it would probably work better than a blow gun, especially if you have a lot of pilot air to exhaust.

It's basicly a blowgun on steroids.

you cant, once you open a FE valve it wont seal up properly again. maybe if you planed to shoot it within the next 10 seconds, but other than that, no. maybe yours will seal, but mine never did, i tryed it several times.

Brian the Brain used a fire extinguisher and the valve on his marble machine gun. You can see this gun <a href="http://www.spudfiles.com/forums/viewtop ... &">here</a>/ Apparently, the valve was pretty high flow, and allowed him to do some serious damage with that gun...

mine was about 10 years old, so maybe if yours was new.

If CO2 fire extinguishers are charged to 800-1000PSI, then could I simply clamp the end of the black hose to a fitting and then connect the fitting to a steel barrel? Though the valve is slow, it gives a lot of CO2 in comparison to the pressure in a normal chamber.
I know that this would be a ridiculusly costly way to make a gun (you'd need to buy a new FE for each shot), but I'm just curious.

haha yer ive done one before, it was for my little bro he enjoyed it for a bit until i made my marble gun which kicked its A$$
