backwards sprinkler valve

Hi I just built my first pnematic cannon and I have a slight problem, I noticed put the sprinkler valve on backwards and have already cemented it in, will it work? Any advice?

you cemented it in? your just supposed to get male adapters and use teflon tape. only thing i can say i saw off both sides of the gun now and try to switch them.

Either way, it would probably be best to saw off the ends and find a way to re-attach them in the proper direction.
Could you please post a picture of the valve/cannon so that we may be able to acces the situation better?

You can plug the equilization hole and drill a new one, that might help somewhat.

were you directing it to me? just kidding. ps- why didnt you just use teflon tape.

if you have a dremel to could cut both sides of the valve and sand off the pipe inside with the demel tool sander thing. this could be ticky and time consuming but would be the neatest looking of your opptions

It would take AGES to sand out pvc piping.
I'm sure someone posted a pipe removal tool that you stick in a drill to cut out pipe from a fitting... I'm going to look for it...

not only would it take forever, but it wouldn't be very consistant and it wouldn't be very safe, just do it the proper way and cut both parts, then add a coupler to both sides.

i recon the best way would be to cut both sides but leave enough room for the bits on the valve to go properly into a coupler and then just turn it around and whack a coupler on both sides. it would be strong, and neat.
if you post up a pic it might help us out a bit aswell.
