Breech loading paintball cannon

This is a cannon my friend and I built about a year ago. We built it to use in paintball and it is very effective. It shoots Nerf rockets pretty well and we shoot them alot because their reusable. Those 2 minute smoke bombs work well too, and they look awesome when you shoot them up in the air. We also shoot paintball sabots made out of toilet paper rolls and Dixie Cups that hold 28 paintballs.

It is a barrel locking, breech loading cannon. I took the idea of using T fitings and tube clamps from the BECC. The valve is just a simple 1 inch sprinkler valve. I didn't modify the valve because having that electric switch in the trigger frame is so comfortable.

(Video is soon to come)

Very nice, the breach loader is done well to.
Pro, i think hes using a 1" sprinkler valve, it just blends in because of the paint.

Very nice cannon. Smooth, sleek, and looks good. Would this cannon happen to be inspired by the BECC? It looks strikingly similar.

Nice. I like bazooka style guns a lot. It looks like you used a U-shaped sprinkler valve. Did you?
Did you say what size your barrel is? It looks a little dirty on the inside. Maybe you should clean it out with a spud.
I like how you integrated the trigger, and you don't want to mod the valve, but you can look for those pistol-shaped blowgun valves. Your cannon will work better and still look good.

Nay,it is an inline valve with two elbow joints. Look closely at the n3 picture, picture used in my "diagram".

Looks like it might be 2" Pipe. Do you have a small portable way to quickly recharge it for multiple shots on the field?

Salt, those stains are where the fins of the football rub the barrel. They don't come out unless the barrel is sanded.

@Orpackrat,A nerf is 2" at the largest part of the bulb. The barrel would be a 2"

Overall SP, that is a nice gun.You could easily adapt that action to use cartridges.I've found they speed up loading. My first pneumatic was also inspired by the BECC as well as the "sniper" style.

Beautiful breech loader u have there. I like the way u didn't paint all of the barrel so u can tell when it isn't closed all the way. Great gun.

Thanks for all of the good comments. As for a way to recharge on the field, the only thing I have right now are portable air tanks, which hold enough air to last a while. Eventually I'm going to buy a regulator so I can run constant air, but for now I have to recharge it after every shot.

its so basic, yet it is one of the coolest things ive ever seen. I think you should have put it in the competition, that is so cool, great job on, well, everything. :)

Man you need a regulator setup.I use a stock WGP Reg and it works just fine.Don't hook it up direct to the gun though, the output is 220psi.buy a tire chuck with guage and fill it that way. Also you might want to watch the quick disconnect on the side if you leave the chuck connected you might accidently shear the disconnect off the side. And finally pressure relief valves are neccesary.I hate having to put one on(another thing to hang up) but the way insurance is these days every owner wants to see triplicate of safety on homemade guns. Here is a pic to what my reg setup looks like:

That cannon is the shiz. The paint job looks awesome, and that grip looks evil.
