When using two valves linked to one exhaust, is it better to have two separate chambers or should they be connected? I am building a fairly large cannon soon with dual valves and I think I should research somethings before buying parts

have them connected. You could just do this with a peice of hose or something else. Well I guess it may not matter if theyre seperate or not but it would be easier to fill and its not that hard to do.

So have a length of hose at the end connecting the two together?

yer i'd go with as much air as you can hold so go with 2 chambers.

Would two 24"long 3" chambers flowing into two 1" valves restrict airflow a lot?

what size barrel are you planning on?

A multitude of sizes, mainly a golfball barrel and probably a 2" barrel also.

ya should try and make a piston man you will be happy with the results compared to a sprinkler

I have the valves already piston is a no-go for this project.

well go return teh valves and use the money on a piston valve.
They are quite easy to build.

Can't really do that, these valves were purchased ages ago. Anyways back to my question please.

PS: Made this 3d of what we(my dad and I) plan on building.

better yet use those valves as pilots for a DUAL PISTON gun that would be insane i don't think it even been done before

Which of these configurations would yield the best results?


Attached is the ggdt sheet for the gun we want to build. I tried it with both 3" and 2" chambers, the 3" yielded only 8~fps and 1ms more than the 2" chamber for some reason, so I think we will go with the 2" chamber. The projectile used was a golf ball. This sheet more than tripled the fps of my current golf ball cannon(what does that say about it -.-) and I am already amazed with the one I have.

I don't know how accurate this is though as I don't know the CV of my valves.
