So far I've only built one cannon, my monster 8 1/2 foot combustion. My next project will be a pneumatic, because I want power. I am going to use a blowgun triggered sprinkler valve, but I'm not sure what kind yet. I see that some say anti-siphon and some don't. I've heard one person say that anti-siphon valves dump a tad slower, can anyone confirm this? Also, is there any difference in the modification proces between the two?

well since this this is going to be your first pneumatic i can see why your choosing a modded sprinklervalve, but i must say you seem pretty knowledgable on the forum and i think you can handle a piston. to answer your question the process for modification is the same, all you have to do is mount it differently.

I'll do a piston some other time. Right now I want to experiment with pneumatics, but I'm waiting on a piston for a while. I drew up this interesting idea for a piston at home and I keep looking at it trying to find inspiration on how to make it work. That'll be the next project.
Yea, if I seem to know a lot, it's just because I'm good with concepts. I'm good at understaning something before I ever even try it. You'd figure I'd do good in school because of that but...

So I totally thought sprinkler valves were more expensive than they really are. I was thinking along the lines of 30 bucks or something, my Lowes has them for 18. This is a satisfying development.
