My New Pneumatic

Alright, I wouldn't call this one my first cannon, but close. I made the obligatory giant ugly hairspray cannon about a year ago. Fun but unreliable. Stumbled onto this website, still not sure if that is a good or bad thing

I made kind of a test pneumatic just to make sure the modded sprinkler valve worked. Just seemed to easy to be so effective. Anyway, after I made that one I started on this one. I've got no imagination at all, so there is a good chance I copied this design from someone without realizing it. If it was you, let me know and I'll credit you.

It's got a 32" chamber of 1", a 36" barrel of .5", and a 1" modded sprinkler valve.

I need to find a way to rigid mount the red dot scope once I make sure it's close. I'm thinking some good ole JB Weld unless someone has a better suggestion. And before you say it, I know the schrader isn't in the best place. I'm having trouble finding the threaded type. Everyone seems to be out of them here. And I'm leaving the solenoid on in case I need to remote fire it for some reason.

But running it right around 100psi and using some wadded marbles, and bits of 5/8" dowel. Fired it off a little last night but it was too late to really see a whole lot, but I was impressed with the speed of the marbles. GGDT says it should be firing right around 500ft/s. Hope to get out during the day for some damage pics and to get that sight dialed in.

Anyways nice gun, is that handle thing a blow valve? looks like you will have some fun with it. it shoots marbles right? i want to make a marble rifle some day. Last question, is it made of ABS pipe? Lol I really dont mind your gun mate but that cat is so cute . Ahem on task now Nice pneumatic dont worry bout the design half of what people make is a copy of sorts...except mine. Mine are too ghetto but anyway. Nice cannon and keep up the good work mate

It's all PVC, think the sprikler valve is going to be the weakest link.

Shooting marbles, bits of 5/8" dowel and other random objects that fit in there.

And thats a blow gun I got at home depot. I was a bit worried about the flow, but it works just fine.

The cat, well she's "special" and a bit nosy. She looks like she likes the cannon though. Maybe I can make a low powered cat toy cannon to shoot across my place so they have something to chase.

A word of advice, had you joined the sprinkler valve between the elbow and the barrel you would have saved on some dead space between the valve and the projectile and improved performance.

Hey, nice for one of your first cannons. I like the whole neat and proper look, especially the black sprayjob 8) . Hehe, wish my cat was that friendly lookig, mine is savage! my artwork doesnt like it either! my cat+art = shreds!

And thanks Jack for the input. I knew that when I built it. I haven't really seen or thought of a way to mount the blowgun anywhere else that I can do and be happy with. I have very limited tools and that was done for the sake of simplicity and....well laziness I guess.

I like the basic set up and the way the barrel is supported, but if I could get that sprinkler valve up top and move the blowgun to about where the gauge is I'd be really happy. I'll just have to figure out how to do it with my limited skills, tools, knowledge, and keep it fairly cheap.

That was one of my original thoughts, but I know in the long run I won't be happy with just zip ties.



That is what I was thinking about. Maybe bore out the tee so it slides over the chamber and try to jam a smaller blowgun into a piece of 1" hanging down. Shouldn't be too tough....maybe
