My first pneumatic

Hello everyone. I just thought I'd post some pictures of a simple pneumatic I just made so I could get some feedback.

Specs:
sch. 40 PVC
2"X3.75' Chamber
1.5"X4' Barrel
1" Brass ball valve

Here is a video of me shooting at an almost empty spraypaint can with a potato and a couple of rocks:

If you watch closely you can see a cloud of blue spraypaint blow into my face. The video also includes me shooting a glass bottle, and my friends shooting their combustion cannon. My friend swears once or twice (just a heads up).

What do you think of the C:B ratio? If the PVC is rated up to 280 PSI, does that mean that it's perfectly fine to fill it to 200 PSI?
Comments/suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks. Would increasing the length of the chamber increase power?

Not as much as fitting a modded sprinkler valve would ;) and yeah, if your fittings are sound, I'd be comfortable taking to 200 psi, but not much higher.

That's probably one of the few first cannons that I have ever seen that didn't have DWV on them (at least, I think yours doesn't have any). Very good job!

Thank you all for the comments! I think I want a modded sprinkler valve now . Can anyone give me an average price range for such a valve? Also, could I just remove the ball valve and attach the modded sprinkler valve? Or would I need to make changes to the cannon itself? Thanks in advance.

Very nice first cannon! If you are intrested in upgrading to a sprinkler valve, you should buy one from your local hardware store and mod it yourself to save money. A sprinkler vavle will give you a tremendous increase in power, and it will be easier to open. You can expect to pay about $16-$17 for the sprinkler vavle and fittings required to mod it, as opposed to buying a modded valve from BC for about $25 plus shipping.

Yeah, a modded sprinkler valve would be a pretty good idea on this cannon, and is really worth it.

BTW, iPaintball, I guess if you dont support BCarms though, less money goes towards supporting this website, which could lead to its demise... But I know what you mean with the price difference, very tempting...
