A few questions - DWV etc

I recently bought all the parts for my spud gun, only to realise after I primed & cemented it that it says DWV and has nothing I can see that says it has a PSI rating.
(The barrel says "DWV 65 PVCU LIC1010 AS/NZS 1260 SL13 (0) 070325 21:30")

It's a 1 meter 65mm barrel.. perfect to fit tennis balls (Which is what I wanted)
The chamber is the same and so is the.. reducer? (The thing that goes big to small ><)

The thing is I live in Australia and the Bunnings Warehouse I visited only had 50mm pressure rated pipe, which isn't the size I wanted & I totally forgot to check on the 65mm, Can anybody suggest where to get 65mm pressure rated pipe? (Also, how can you tell if it is sch40,80 etc?)

Ok, last few questions..
Would this gun be safe to use (Deodorant/Hairspray as a fuel) for just shooting tennis balls (Perfect fit) or even almost loosely fit lemons?
and
I accidently primed/cemented the wrong side of the reducer thing (Lol, sorry) so now both sides have it, Will this affect it in any way?

A Speedy response would be great if possible as I am going away tonight and wanting to know if I can use it tomorrow

Usually, DWV is okay for combustions. As far as priming / cementing both sides of the reducer, it will not affect the performance, but will affect the aesthetics (no biggie if you paint it ).

Well, you apply primer & cement on the inside/outside of the end of the pipe right?

I put it inside and outside, instead of just the outside (I was tired )

I'm pretty sure DWV is ok with combustions just never use it for pneumatics. It will blow up on you.

Welcome to the forums. Just to let you know, there is a search feature that can come in handy. You can look up all kinds of debate on the safety of dwv, but as far as hairspray goes, most of us agree that it's fine for that. The extra primer shouldn't affect anything as far as i can think of. Check teh interwebz for pressure rated PVC, there are several sites that sell it, one being McMasters, and I believe that BCArms, the official spudfiles store, sells it as well.

I tried a quick search using DWV as the search, I also tried DWV in the wiki (No results to my surprise) as for the forum DWV search, I only did it quickly as I've got to get ready and packed & clean the house, So I have little time and needed a quick response.

But I'll be sure to search more thoroughly next time!

Sorry, One more thing heh.

The primer/cement that I accidently did on both sides, is actually inside the chamber.. will it ignite? or is it fine.

Ok, this is gonna take awhile.

First of all, your in Auz, you guys don't use Sch system.

So don't look for Sch 40 or 80 etc.

Now, the rating will be in BAR. 1BAR = 14.5PSI.

The rating will be displayed as PNXX(XX = Pressure rating in BAR)

The most common is probably PN12 and PN18.

So that means PN12 is rated to 12BAR x 14.5PSI = 174PSI
And PN18 = 18BAR x 14.5PSI which is a rating of 261PSI.

In a hairspray combustion, DWV is fine, but in a Pneumatic you must use pressure rated pipe and in an advanced combustion I would recommend it.

Also on the pipe should be a DNXX
Where DN20 = Diameter Number 20mm

So that tells you the nominal diameter of the pipe.

I suggest looking up a few plumbing merchants in the phone book, cheap prices and huge range and stock.
Though I've never seen 65mm pipe personally, only in America, here in NZ we use the same system as you Aussies and i've never personally seen it.
