If you live in Northern NSW or south Queensland Rural Buying Service is the go. There are cheap quality parts like stainless pressure rated cam locks. The ignition, forget about piezo's or electronic BBQ lighters, make a ignition circuit like this one http://www.spudfiles.com/forums/high-po ... 10486.html. Cost me $5 for the coil, got the camera circuit for free at a photoshop and bought a few resistors and a silicon controlled rectifier from dick smith store for $3. The sparks are HUGE. Mine can do seven spark gaps with 1 cm spark length. Read the spark strip thing on burnt lake for info about that.

BTW: Auto wreckers for cheap ignition coil. try to stay away from huge bulky ones the modern smaller versions have the same jolt.

is the link.

I just use a cigarette lighter piezo. You can just about make 2 gaps with it.
Alternatively, check your local dump for old BBQs. I got a great one which was screwed into an old BBQ, which gives a fat 1cm spark.

Retailers ALWAYS overprice piezo igniters for BBQs for some reason.
