That is what i call building a cannon with balls. I hope you are planning to use propane/oxy mixes in this super Hercules style "artillery piece".
Must handle recoil quite well too, seeing as though how heavy it must be.

Yea that definately looks like its built for hybrid use and if i were you i would try to convert that into a hybrid as Isomer said.
Nice build though, but do you have any more details?

Damn that looks sweet. Great job on the ignition. You should use oxygen fuel mix for sure.

Yeah, I have an elaborate scheme for oxy/propane mixing. As for hybrid, I don't know how I could keep the projectile in there. Incidentally though, because of the ventilation problems I'm having, it would be REALLY easy to make it a hybrid with my venting system. The barrel is 2.625" ID. Perfect for tennis balls and smaller water bottles. If I was to correct the CB ratio, I'd need a 15 foot barrel.

Nice job where did you get steel pipe that big.
I can't say it any better than that. That is what i call building a cannon with balls
You really need to try hybrid oxy/propane mixes. Or, for that matter, oxy hydrogen with an electrolysis machine powered by an arc welder
I don't see any fuel metering system, but this thing has a lot of potential. With a union, you could do some mad hybrid mixes.
And Bob, 4" steel tubing is quite common if you look around at welding shops. My tech lab alone has about 30' of the stuff, and I have a few feet lying around my shed somewhere.

nice job for your first steel. I like the spark gap set up, like isomer said.
Its such a massive, heavy-duty cannon......it's ungodly.
also, did you salvage the steel pipe? looks used lol.

But it is not a Hybrid....Its such a massive, heavy-duty cannon......you should at least consider putting it under hybrids.
