Yeah that's huge. You can get reducer bushings for this but they are expensive. You're going to have to go to a local commercial pipe supplier or order it from a place like
McMaster.
Probably not worth fooling with....
Also, truble = trouble....

how would looking for fittings help when he doesnt know what it is made of?
if it is not pvc then a pvc fitting would not work on it...
EDIT: for very cheap pressure rated parts look on
www.flexpvc.com all of the parts are pressure rated unless noted. they have ALOT of parts online plus if you cant find the part you need just call them and see if they have it

It looks like SDR 13.5 drain pipe. We have some lying around, and Gort made a 12" bore cannon with it as well.
It's not pressure rated, and fittings can get a little pricey.

I think you mean "a lot pricey". depending on your budget of course.
Reminds me of when I got a big chunk of 6 inch pipe for free. I was all excited and decided to make a bigass cannon out of it. After I was done I realized I spent a couple hundred bucks on fittings and came to realize that the pipe itself would have cost me like 15 bucks. Remember that the fittings will cost WAY more than the pipe itself. It would make more sense financially to scale the pipe down to 4 or 6 inch for the sake of spending less on fittings.
