Anons First
*Sorry for the bad Pictures*
Ok after asking many questions here and on spudtech this is the cannon I just finished the other day. It has a 18 inch x 4 inch diameter chamber and a 4.5 foot barrel which is 2 inch diameter. The entire chamber with fittings is 5.8 Litres. It has interchangable barrels using male and female adaptors. As you can see its a over under design and the cannon is made from ABS since the PVC at the shop near me is way to expensive and ABS splits. For fuel the gun uses propane injected manually.
Future Plans:
Add metering system
Get a GB barrel
Get a longer barrel
Damage:
The pictures explain themselves but the ammo that caused the damage was potatos with a spike shoved in them bound with electrical tape.
Pictures:
I didnt post thumbnails since the comments above them help explain them better since some are a bit blurry. http://s25.photobucket.com/albums/c75/D ... nnon/?sc=6

Anon I hate to put a wet blanket on your enthusiasm but ABS is not the thing to use; PVC may be more expensive but the injuries you may incur with ABS may be more costly. A word to the prudent-use PVC and put aside the ABS as a relic of your naive period. Save your skin.

ABS is better in cold weather and at least if it dose go shards wont be sticking in your eyes, you would just get burnt.

Uhh.. ABS is a lot safer than PVC because it doesn't shatter, it tears. Next time do a little research before making these claims.plumpthumb wrote:Anon I hate to put a wet blanket on your enthusiasm but ABS is not the thing to use; PVC may be more expensive but the injuries you may incur with ABS may be more costly. Anon, it's a very nice gun. I personally woudl rather use ABS but since I can't find it, i'm stuck with PVC.

Wellllll-I still would opt for PVC due to the fact it is pressure rated to a higher degree than ABS and I have never had a problem with PVC. I have been a "spudder" for more than twenty years and have seen more disasters with ABS than with PVC. I have never seen better success rates than with PVC. If you want want to use the weaker material then go ahead but please be ready to take the responsibility!

The worst that can happen with ABS is that the pipe splits but even that is unlikely, There is a better chance of the clean out plug shooting out the end but even that is highly un likely.
Really nice cannon Anon, and ya a future golf ball barrel will be a good adition.

You can also slide the hose clamp through 3/8" black rubber hosing to make it match the cannons paint job.
ABS is fine for combustions. As long as it isn't cellular core you'll keep your skin... for now.

Where are you guys finding non-cellcore ABS?
just a question, has the actual chamber ever burst on a combustion gun? not the fittings flying off, but the acutal pipe bursting?
in the upcoming presidential election, there will be several candidates who will be running, one of whom is Hillary Clinton. Now WAIT A SECOND!!! I though there was some sort of rule that prevented someone from serving more than two terms in office. Vote Against Hillary: Presidential Elections 08
