I have heard of dangers with dwv, but thats just plastic... This is metal. I know I can use higher pressures, but I think I will stick with around 200 psi for it, maybe 300 when I get either a shock pump or a fridge compressor.

Why? People have used this crap at like 1,000 psi.

Well I am my usual self... Long story short, I don't like to fuck around with high pressure. I had a friend get killed by a scuba tank that blew up on his back. Even longer story short, there was very little left of him.

Well the only way to get up that high would be by using a fridgy which I don't think you are the type of kid to be dealing with.

Ok, let me set you straight. For one, it isn't just plastic. Ever seen broken PVC?
PVC breaks up into little fragments, very sharp fragments too. (Sorry, was misinformation) Here's a few fragmented PVC hybrids for your viewing pleasure
Sch 40 steel is seamed, so when it's rating is exceeded, it only bursts into a few pieces. Not to mention the much higher burst pressure.
Here's a link for you http://www.ihservice.com/PDF's/Pipe%20S ... 0Chart.pdf (copy paste url, it stuffed with the formatting)
And if your usual self is concerned with safety, then stop using PVC for hybrids.

I thought that was a myth.Zeus wrote:PVC breaks up into little fragments, very sharp fragments too. X-rays can't see them, so the only way to remove them is by probing each wound.

Not at all, I completely concur with your efforts, contrary to Darwinian natural selection as it might beZeus wrote:Jack, do you blame me for trying to discourage someone using a potentially unsafe material?

However there's no need to give incorrect factual information, the thought of a razor sharp fragment of PVC lodged anywhere in one's body should be deterrent enough, whether it can be seen by X-rays or not.

An easy way of making this a little bit safer would be to slide it in a piece or steel pipe with one end capped.

That is all.
Hmph. Somehow I missed that picture earlier. It appears that a very long path length is required to make PVC show up on an x-ray (only the outline of the pipes is visible).
