My 1st try

It was a strange coincidence that i began building this thing.
-Found an old fire extinguisher an wanted to do something with it.
-Found out that it had an 1" fitting.
-Already had all the parts needed for a simple launcher.
- screwed a pipe in, drilled a hole in the chamber, added a potato and deodorant lighted it with a lighter... Boom. Wow that was impressive.
That impressive that i spent some time and efforts on it:
Works as simple combustion with propane and
as simple pneumatic with 200psi and
as a hybrid with mixes of 2x and 3x.
Facts:
6,5 l fire extinguisher chamber
1" Ball Valve and interchangeable barrels
selfmade flyback circuit charges capacitor. Capacitor is discharged through a car ignition coil for the spark, a big spark.
Burst disc is inserted between The Ball valve and the Barrel.
The actual Barrel is a little too wide for a Golf Ball. Wrapped D-cells work fine. At the moment i'm looking for a longer one with a smaller diameter.
Shooting this at 3x mix is loud.

Plz tell me what you think about it.

Very nice! Its a seriously cool cannon (esp for a first) You look like you have some good electrical skills and severe ingenuity. Good work.
My only comment would to possibly take the tape away and use neater binding options such as zip ties etc.

btw, please edit the foot out the first picture, its damn ugly! :D

That's good, i like it. What I really like is that mount, pretty smart.

WOW! nice cannon. thats pretty neat, pneumatic, combustion, and hybrid all in one! What do you use to pump it up? If its a bike pump 200psi would take forever. An Awesome Cannon. Great Job!

What do you use to pump it up?
I would guess a compressor or large footpump.

Nice hybrid.
and 200 psi?could be a foot pump, or either a high pressure compressor or a shock pump.

ok excuse my ignorance but where is the burst disc housed?

Burst disc is inserted between The Ball valve and the
The actual Barre

Right, the burst disc is inserted between trhe ball valve an the barrel. I use multiple layers of plastic foil. The number of layers depends on strength of the material.
When i want do a pneumatic shot, i use a bike pump to pressurize it. I am currently looking for a cheap compressor. One point is that good ones can reach >300psi and an other one is that i rather like to watch a little gadget raising the pressure than doing it with my hands. :D

Btw: thank you for the positive comments. Thought you guys wouldn't like it because it looks like a pile of junk. Can't compete with the looks of these fresh painted and cleanly built cannons but i like the performance.

What is with you guys always destroying 55gal drums anyway? I value my large metal containers :)

Super cool gun. You must have done your homework before building that thing. I would suggest attaching everything together with big hose clamps, as it will look better than tape and hold up better.

Your foot looks like mine!
(except my toenail is a bit shorter).

Very nice i likey alot.
Nice to see someone taking a shot that isn't point blank!
Well done.
